We live in a very old house (built in 1939), but it has such good bones and we have really been able to put our touch on it. Of course there are things I wish it had, like a bathroom upstairs by the bedrooms and an attached garage but I can look beyond that stuff because I love the rest of it so much. It's so cozy and feels like home.

There are a bunch of things we will be updating for our new house, but overall I think I love it. We don't move for another week though so hopefully I still love t once we live there!

I love our house. There are things I would change but they don't bug me enough to make me want to move. Which is good cause DH really loves our house and said he is going to live here forever.

I love it....it's perfect for us. There are some things that aren't ideal, by the house itself is great. My ideal would be a house on a large plot of land, with no neighbors. But that's not going to happen anytime soon.

I do love parts of it but I feel like we are going to outgrow it with the second kid. But it fit a lot of our boxes and when we walked in, it felt like home. I wish it was bigger and had a porch.

Meh. I live in an apartment. So I'm not in love with it. The size is good and the layout is alright. Kitchen is very small, I don't like all the light colored carpeting especially in the dining room. I also wish I had a soaking tub.
I cannot wait to own my own home. It's just so expensive it feels like it'll never happen

I like it. It's a good space for us for now, and the yard is great for kids. But I know we will outgrow it when the kids get bigger. Although its updated, our kitchen is very brown, which I don't like. Same with the master bath. I want to change paint colors but do not have an eye at all for design. I wish I could hire a designer to help me figure out what to do.

I love our home but wish we had a master bathtub. Also wish we were on a less busy road but other than that it's great.

We live in an apartment and we know we will leave it some day. I do like it, but I'm not attached to it. That said, it's probably one of the biggest apartment we will ever have so I will probably miss it for that.

Not a fan. It's DHs bachelor pad he bought before he met me. We weren't planning on staying this long so I never really put much into it. But, life has happened and we are still here but hoping to be out in the next year. I absolutely love our neighborhood and location though, so I will definitely miss that! Just not the house itself.

I love it, but it's old and needs lots of love. We don't have the money or time for it to reach its full potential. It's always a work in progress. One day it'll be perfect. It's our forever home, and I'm okay with taking time to fix it up.

I don't. It's not what I wanted at all, but on the flip side, it will not be that emotional for me to leave it when the time comes.

Well we just sold it so not so much
Overall it was a good house, however it lacked character and it was getting too small for our needs. We are now planning on renting for a short term while we decide to buy or build.

@looch: This is how I feel about our home. It's a shame because it is where we plan to raise our family and we looked for a home for a year. We ended up just finding something that meets our needs, no love. I'm comfortable but I would not be sad to leave it assuming we got back all the money we've put into upgrades!!

I love our home! We completely gutted it and re-did everything. While we didn't have the budget to make it into a truly dream home; I think we got most of what we wanted and we're very happy! Pretty much every little detail is what I wanted!

@MOMTOLITTLEB: Glad to read you are in the same boat! Our house is serviceable, it meets our needs, but it is very plain and cookie cutter. I just don't see the point in customizing it any more (read: pouring money into it) when the function is there.

I like our home but don't love it. The location is the best thing about it (we live in a popular city). We also did a good job of "making it our own" and put many personal touches on it which I love. However, it's too small and the layout is awkward, we don't have an off-street parking spot, and we can't even receive packages (the front door opens directly onto the sidewalk). I don't regret it though because it has been a great place to have a baby/toddler and we will make a killing when we sell. However, now we know more about what we want for our next house.

I like it, but could never love it without another bedroom. For our area, it's a nice space.

I love my house although there are things I'd tweak about it. I love the location and the size. I'd change our lot so we had a back yard and I'd rearrange the main floor layout. But overall it's pretty perfect. I can see this as my forever home, although DH does not.

The thing I love most is the location--downtown, very walkable. It only takes me 20 minutes to get to work (and half of that is just me walking to the train station). It has a nice layout--not so small that we feel cramped, not so large that we aren't able to fill it.
It won't work as well for us once our family starts to grow, but for our current stage of life it's perfect.

I like our apt, but even though it's pretty big for our city I feel very cramped and things feel very cluttered! And it will only get worse when lo2 arrives.

We loved it when we bought it (3 months ago) but kind of hating it right now (brown recluse infestation). I feel so sad about it, because we thought it was our forever home and now I don't know if I will ever feel safe having my children there. But the size, layout, yard, location are all perfect.

We are building a house (just broke ground last week) and while I am hoping we LOVE it and stay there forever (as that's the idea behind customizing everything), it's actually quite overwhelming to plan rooms from pictures without having anything to physically see.

I mostly love it, but it is old (built in 1928) and it can be frustrating dealing with all the issues that come with a home that age. But, we knew going into it that we were buying a fixer upper so overall it is a great house. We're hoping to stay in it until we retire, so we've got time to keep working on it!
