I don't have a membership, but I think we pay $30 something for DH's.

@hotchildinthecity: dang, I didn't realize crossfit cost that much!! We have a friend who crossfits all over the world (:P ), but I've never asked how much he pays!

$50 for both of us. Although, I haven't used it in months so it's wasted money. If we can afford it, I need to schedule training sessions to get me back in the gym.

@hotchildinthecity: Oh, I didn't realize cross fit was that much either. I know it's popular though.

Over $100 for both of us, though I'm the only one that goes! I think its really pricey, but its a great gym and super close to our house.

Less than $60 for a family membership at the Y. This is a rate based in income though. I think it's normally $100+ For a family rate.
@hotchildinthecity: yikes! There is a crossfit that just opened in my town and it's $110/mo and I thought that was a lot.

$145 each for Equinox. We also joined the Y but I don't know how much that costs.

We have a small gym in our apartment complex, so we don't have a membership now. Before we moved, we paid $40/month for both of us together.

$140 family membership at the YMCA

$180 family membership at the rock gym (though right now we're just paying DH's half of this since I'm pregnant and can't climb)

Our ymca membership for me and LO is 65, which includes unlimited use of the nursery when its open ( up to 2 hours a day) as well as a big pool.

There's a new gym here that is $10 a month, or $20 for unlimited classes & tanning. BUT I think I have to cancel my membership, because we signed up in Nov. and they still haven't opened.

We pay $10 for DH's standard gym membership. We are members of the Y and that's about $80.

A lot. It's $250 per month but includes court fees for clay tennis courts and kids activities.

25-30/month at la fitness. Plus we pay for the kids club. I also do barre/spinning classes separately.

$120/month for a family membership at the YMCA that includes childcare. DH's work covers $60 of it though.

It's $200 for two years at the one we're planning to join once we get moved in to our new house. I'd rather go to the Y, since they have a pool, and childcare will be easier once LO is here (and old enough), but it's $95/month. Just can't justify that big of a difference!

110 for a family membership at the y. Being in a place where most gym memberships are upwards of 75 per person per month, this is a steal. It includes child are for DD and use of the pools.

$120/ month for cf, although my membership is currently on hold.

We're hoping to join a gym in a few months once LO is here & on a schedule of sorts. It's about $50 per month for one person but I think you get a small discount as a couple.

We got rid of ours...it was 60/month. DH does Crossfit with our neighbors for free now.

@bluestriped bee: @Mrs. Pen: yeah, thats a pretty typical price for crossfit in my area. The "cheapest" gym around here is probably new york sports club, which is like $90/month. And we have little gyms around like lucille roberts and boom fitness that are maybe cheaper too? But I love CrossFit and my husband is loving the amenities of Equinox.

Wow--such a difference in pricing!
My husband does Crossfit for $130 a month. I belonged to a big, local gym that was around $80 a month--super nice facility, pool, lots of classes, and childcare. I never went though, so I cancelled. I can see joining again if I get pregnant.

I paid $99 for the year at planet cardio.... (planet fitness). I'm thinking of getting a family membership at the Y but its over $100 per month so hard to justify.

$73/month for a family membership at the Y, which also includes childcare. Can't wait to start taking advantage of that once LO is 1!

$0. I get it for free now on the base and will get it for free through school in a couple months.
Our community center in our suburb has a weight room/gym and offers classes. I think it costs $55 a year to join the community center for a family.

$200 a month for a small group training facility. It's a great workout with qualified trainers so im willing to pay more.
grapefruit / 4187 posts
I don't have a gym membership but DH pays about $80/month at NY Sports club. It's a really good deal since they have everything he needs and other memberships in our neighborhood start at twice that.
