I'm thinking maybe $20/$25 per kid but not sure I can get much for that. Anything more though seems like a lot of money. I can't even remember what was in A's basket last year or how much I spent. What do you spend, on average?

I bought Frozen on Blu ray so that was $22? I also bought R a book based on Frozen and I think that was under $4. The movie is really for me now but she'll watch it when she's older. I just bought some Puffs on sale so I'll throw 1 or 2 of those in the basket too.

@Bao: I am going to try to stick to $10 each, we can't do much but I want to do something… It's not much but DD is only 3 months old and I think we can get creative. So far I have a $6 outfit I found for DD and I think I might add socks or a small rattle or something. For DS I was thinking of finding a cheap board book at TJMaxx or some fun snacks that he doesn't usually get… Maybe a bottle of chocolate milk, a fruit pouch, maybe some bubbles, crayons, or sidewalk chalk.

@Bao: nothing? I will make him some fabric eggs, and muffins. Grandparents are each doing a book and a toy.

$5-10. Last year ge got a board book and a stuffed bunny. This year he'll get a board book. Once he's older, it'll just be candy.

I spent $4 at the dollar store today on some rabbit bubbles, a wind up bunny toy, and some egg holders to put puffs and treats in. I'll probably get a book, too. $15 maybe? Shoot, the basket cost twice as much!

@blackbird: haha, R's basket cost a bunch too but I just keep telling myself that we will be using it for 18 years.

@blackbird: @swedishfish: I got a $4 lined basket for the girls, can't beat that

I don't think we'll really buy anything! I figure she has no idea what's going on yet. she has a small basket from last year, I may put Annie's Bunny Grahams ($2), a book and maybe a small toy or a refill for her gymboree bubbles!

Probably 20 bucks. Will get some plastic eggs and fill with m and ms and maybe get a book and a toy for him. Last year I hit up the dollar aisle at Target and got a bunch of stuff there plus the Fischer price musical remote.

I just got her basket but I have no idea what to fill it with. She'll be 10 weeks old. She has mspi, so I can't fill it with chocolate for her (OK, me. Lol.). I could do jellybeans. Maybe an outfit or easter book? I mean, it's really only for a photo op so I don't want to spend a ton! Lol.

We were gifted a jellycat bunny and I am totally putting it in her basket...she's only 7 months so she won't know the difference I think I'll get her some new hair accessories and maybe a board book, too. So less than $20.

LO is only 7 months, so I just bought a few cheap things from the dollar section at Target (a pinwheel and some sunglasses) and a pair of shorts. Spent $7. Might add a book.

Zero lol. Maybe once she is older i will put more effort in?
pomegranate / 3872 posts
Well I got her the pottery barn basket and liner but that'll be for every year. I probably spent $50-$60 to fill it but I admittedly go overboard. Part of it is a stainless steel water bottle I would have gotten anyway.

Easter is a good time for new toys for us, since it is 7 months since his BD and 4 since Christmas. So I will probably spend 20-25. I usually wouldn't for another mid-range holiday (like VDay or Halloween). I got his basket at a thrift store and reuse.

We haven't gotten anything yet - I'll probably hit the dollar store or target for some little $1 stickers, and maybe some new art supplies. My mom is getting her a basket and I suspect my MIL and aunt will too, so she'll be getting plenty!

Maybe $20? He's getting some new books (okay, I want some new books!), and a bar of fancy chocolate. It'll be the first year he gets a basket. He's 3 and I didn't think of it last year. I'm thinking the books and chocolate theme will be a recurring one around here.

This year it was about $20 for DS and a little over that for DD. The only reason that DD's was more was because I bought Frozen to put in her basket even though I would've bought it for myself anyway lol. They are both getting little wooden puzzles from Target, an Easter sippy for DS, a big sticker book from Costco for DS, bunny PJs for DD, hairbows for DD and plastic eggs for both.

I'm not doing Easter baskets until she's old enough to appreciate it. I'm actually not sure I'll ever do it. Even as a not-very-religious person these days, the commercialization of a Christian holiday rubs me the wrong way. Which is also one of my issues with Christmas!

@Anagram: we didn't do easter baskets until last year. My parents bought the kids stuff and we just pretended that was from the bunny lol. Last year though when we had 2 little people walking around, it felt wrong not to, so we did lol

@swedishfish: Haha I wonder how many babies (read: mommies living vicariously lol) are getting Frozen for Easter! I know I was thrilled when I came up with the idea!

Well it depends on whether we have his daughters. All but Charlie have baskets already, I try to keep the 3 around $25, all 5 around $15.

@Running Elley: haha, great minds think alike! DH won't let me watch it till Easter though.

@swedishfish: Mine either "The rule" was that it has to stay wrapped until then. Party poopers!

$10 each kid. DS gets a bunch of candy and a little toy and LO will get baby stuff.
pomelo / 5720 posts
$25-40? My parents spent quite a bit on us for Easter so I'm sure it will be more expensive as he gets older. I bought him a book, some snacks, bath crayons, maybe a new hat and a puzzle.
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
Under 25. I got her a spring book, a small wooden rabbit (starting a collection of wooden animals for when she is older), and I'm going to put a couple pouches and maybe some teething biscuits. I was thinking about getting her some bubbles, too.
My aunt made her basket, so I didn't need to buy one.

I do not really know the amount I spend, but about 2 years ago I started buying a swimsuit for my niece and nephews as Easter presents. I might add a little bit of candy, but that's about it. I will probably continue this for our LO.
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6581 posts
We won't be spending much. I'm reusing my sister's old basket and we picked up some bunny ears, bubbles, and little snacks...like 5$? Next year we will probably put a little more in, but we aren't real big on Easter gifts...so probably no more than 20$
pear / 1517 posts
I spent about $10. Two coloring books, crayons, a sippy cup and refillable push up pop tubes.
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
Too much. I love Easter, and my mom set a high standard when I was little. I've already gotten her two movies, a Baby Stella, two books, and a few little Target dollar bin things. So, maybe $60 so far? There are a couple more things I want to get though (bottle for her baby, candy/snack, chalk).
To be fair, one of the movies we got her was Frozen, and we would've gotten it regardless. We actually already watched it because I couldn't wait, but I'm still putting it in her basket!

Nothing. I don't really see the point of Easter baskets. I never had one growing up so it's lost on me I guess.
