We've spent...about $100 I think. A doorway jumper, which we've already set up, a Build-a-bear, a book (This is Not My Hat, more for DH than DS at the moment), an Angel Dear Blankie, a Baby Einstein Bendy Ball and a Lamaze Play & Grow Freddie the Firefly Take Along Toy.

The jumper was more for me...he's usually really clingy, but he likes it well enough to stay in it for brief enough periods of time that I can get some cooking and/or housework done without throwing a tantrum. The bear was the only REALLY unnecessary thing...but it's something that he'll have for years. We haven't really bought him any toys yet (minus the Take Along Tunes radio thing), so I wanted to get him a few small toys.

Maybe $100, or a little less. I bought her a couple of high quality toys from the Land of Nod holiday catalog, and then some clothes from Baby Boden during their 30% off sale. She will also be getting her "big girl" convertible car seat for xmas, but I think my parents are getting that for her. Oh yeah... and the I got her a jumperoo too, but we already gave it to her, and I was going to get that no matter what. What a spoiled baby...

I'm a bad mom if I haven't gotten anything for my 4 month old for Christmas? We're moving internationally in January and I don't want to add to what we already have to bring on the plane with us. Plus, she won't remember anyway... I did just get a car seat bag for the plane to protect her car seat if that counts?

We're not buying any presents but there are some things LO needs, like a high chair and a stroller and some warmer clothes so well probably have to spend $200 in Dec-Jan.

You know you can get wonderful tys used on eBay? My friend bought a huge box of used toys for almost nothing, after a good clean they're good to go.

I have a hard time not getting anything. Which is ridiculous since my first has no recollection of any past Christmases and she is three now! But for her first Christmas we got her a cute little casual outfit (not dressy, so that it would get more wear) and a beautiful, gorgeous snow sled (Canada!). As it turns out, the $200 sled is total impractical for infants, and has never been used since we got a cheapo plastic one shortly after and the outfit...well, she really didn't care.
I read somewhere yesterday "put your wallet away, what your kids really want for Christmas is you!" So that's what I am trying to focus on this year

Maybe $100 or less. I haven't bought him anything yet. My family is getting LO the play kitchen from Ikea so I wil probably buy some accessories for the kitchen and books.

Like Cobi, my lo's birthday is at the end of February, so we want to disperse the big gifts. We are planning on getting him the Radioflyer 4-in-1 trike for his birthday.

Oh, and my LO loves his learning table. I bought it at a 2nd hand children's store for $20!

I swore I'd be cheap this Christmas but ended up spending £40.95 ($66 -- which is a lot more than I planned) for 2 toys. I haven't even gotten the customized Christmas book I was thinking about getting, maybe I'll save that for next Christmas instead.

Let's see, a couple months ago I picked up LO a glow worm, that elephant/ball play toy thingy, a stuffed cookie monster and one other small toy I think. I got these all at an employee discount from the manufacturer so they were maybe 50% of what you'd pay for them in the store so I spent maybe $25. I don't think I am going to buy her anything else, but I did want to have something under the tree for her even though she is only five months and won't even notice. haha.

Of course this does not include the $200 in clothing I just bought for her over black friday weekend. Seriously, I have an issue. I need to find a good consignment shop locally to sell some of this stuff in.

@chrispygal: me too. I spend a fortune on clothes. We are keeping them though in case we have another boy.
