I tip my colorist 15 and my designer (cuts) 10.

Oh but I am always 500% happy with her work, I guess that would make the difference.

I tip 20% and if it ends up being some weird awkward number I round up. The only time I ever considered drawing the line was when the stylist was the owner of a large salon and charged a ton more than the other stylists ($85 for a cut!), and I didn't think he did such a hot job.

15-20% depending on what the nice round number is. My haircut is normally $50, so I tip 20% and just make it an even $60.

My hair is usually about $120 and I tip him $10

@TurtleDoves: I think mine may be a bit different too because in the salons in my town each stylist rents their chair. So if my hair cost $100, she gets all of that but then might pay $500 per month or so to rent a chair (totally made up that $500 number.. could be more!) So i know she gets the full $100.

I go to one of my very good friends from high school. I drive all the way back home for my haircuts (about 1.5 hours) because I haven't been able to find anyone I like or trust nearly as much where we live. I think my haircuts are usually $40, and I just pay $50. So it's over 20%, but she's a dear friend of mine, so I don't care!

I generally do 20% or round. I've been going to the same place for years, and though my normal stylist left, the one I switched to I love.

For instance, I went yesterday - my cut was $33 but I tipped $7 to make it an even $40.

I go to the same person at the same salon every time. I always tip 20% and give a Christmas Bonus of the cost of my visit. So I typically spend around $100 for color and cut, tip $20 and then at Christmas give a $100 bonus. I do not mess with the person who touches my hair.

About 15-20% but at Christmas I always give her close to $100. She's AWESOME!!!

She usually charges $130 and I tip about $20 - $30???
