I'm part of a mom's group and I'm invited to several upcoming showers. I know all of the moms but I'm only close with 1-2.
How much would you spend on shower gifts? Is it improper to spend more on the friends I'm closer to, and less on the friends I don't know as well?
Does it make any difference if this is a shower for their second baby?

I am somewhat generous... it's actually turned to a fault somewhat 
I often spend $30-$50. And well over $100 for a close friend. For my sister's shower and gifts I spent over $500 and for my SIL I think I'll be spending about that as well this summer!

If it were someone I didn't know well, I'd prob spend around $25

Someone I didn't know well, I'd spend around $25. I definitely spend more on people who are friends, and I don't think that's improper! I've purchased $25 gifts before, and $150 gifts before. It just all depends on how close I am to the person,
