@Andrea: Omg, I blame the baby...LO doesn't want to leave her side!

My 16-month old only naps 1.5 hours per day usually. I'm guessing she'll try to completely ditch her naps early like your LO.

@chopsuey119: ummm, when and how long did this phase last? I am nowhere near ready for LO to stop napping
My almost 21 month old naps around 2 hours a day...sometimes only 1.5 hours (rare) and more recently as long as 3 hours (must be a growth spurt)

DS usually naps for 2-2.5 hours every day. He goes down around 100 and wakes up between 3:00 and 3:30. If he isn't awake by 3:30, I wake him.

@autumnlove: THANK YOU for posting this! we've had days recently where J has refused naps one of my coworkers said it was time that he stops napping (19 months? um no) but I do think it's a phase. He gets super-cranky by 4:30pm but by then it's dinner and bath/bedtime stuff and a lot of times - like now - he'll still talk/play in his crib until 9pm!
waiting for this phase to pass... sleep is awesome, kid! get on board!

@rachiecakes: DH has the week off...he is getting worn out by LO! I hope this phase passes for us soon!

Just reading this and I think I will be in @autumnlove's boat in another six months or so... Dd is about 10.5 months and 1 hr the whole day isn't even that bad to us...

21 months here, and it really varies day to day for us. We are big on go with the flow.
Usually he's down for 1-1.5 hours. Today he woke up late (8:30) and I really wore him out at the zoo and got a very late start to lunch and nap, he was down for 2 hours and would have gone longer if we hadn't hit 4pm and I sadly had to wake him Since he napped that late, I didn't start the bedtime routine until 8:30 for a 9pm crib time.
Our biggest factors are: what time he wakes up, what we are up to (could I give him a chance to run or was he stuck in the stroller), and his general attitude for the day. If he's happy and not giving me the tired signs and won't go down right away, I'm not going to go to war over a nap, I'll just move his bedtime earlier. I try to encourage the nap, I really want to keep him at it for many, many more years
