If you're home for most of the day, how much does your dog sleep?
I work from home and even though I take a few breaks to play with and walk him, he sleeps quite a bit! I wonder if he's bored, needs a buddy, or is this just normal?

oh, mine sleep all the time! they're more prone to bursts of excitement than they are continuous steady motion. totally normal. andy, my yorkie, can spend all day snoozing in my lap while i work.

my dogs sleep throughout most of the day. we have two, and when they're bored they'll play with each other, but that usually only lasts about 30 minutes a day.

right now one of mine is cuddled up sleeping at my feet, and the other is sleeping right next to me
they sleep the majority of the day, except for walks and playing with each other on and off. before we got the puppy, our older dog would seriously sleep almost all the time, following us around from room to room and finding different cozy nap places in different rooms

@nana87: Sounds just like my little guy! He follows me everywhere and will find the closest napping spot!
@Mrs. Owl: Mine sleeps in my lap often, too! It's great during the winter, he's like a little heater

If DH is home, she sleeps.most of the day. If I'm home, on the other hand, she bugs me incessantly and isn't happy unless we are playing...preferably outside. So, I usually do not try to get work done at home

Our dog sleeps all day whether we are home or not. In fact, when we're home, I think he's a little annoyed that we are interfering with all day nap time! He gets a 45 minute walk in the morning, and another shorter walk in the evening followed by spurts of playtime, and then he's ready to sleep all night again! I've wondered if he's bored too but I really think its normal, and as long as you exercise / play with them daily, they are happy!

She sleeps allllllll day, pretty much, whether we're home or not. If I'm home and up and moving around, she'll occasionally follow me, beg for treats, want to be let out, etc, but other than that, she's curled up under a blanket. She probably sleeps around 22 hours per day, honestly! But she's older, too...
