It's actually ridiculously expensive here in our neighborhood. I'm ashamed to even name the price.
How much is a glass of wine at a local bar in your neighborhood?

The cheap ones can be as low as $8. Good wine costs a lot more.

@mrbee: I want to know how much! You can't ask the question and not share, haha. I would say $8 - $10 a glass here in Chicago for something not too fancy.

I would order something that is $12-13 per glass? I dunno? I hardly ever look at prices so maybe that is worse.

@Maysprout: I actually don't think we've ever eaten there! Sadly we don't get out much...are you from around Etown?

@FutureMrsMcK: I haven't been there in years but in grad school I spent several fairly drunken nights on the decks. Not sure if I've eaten a real meal there either.

Cheep wine is $6-8/glass. DH was a Bar/Restaurant/Banquet manager for several years and knows all to well the mark ups on alcohol. A bottle of wine they purchased at $2 was sold at $8/glass!

@mrbee: name the price!
Here I would say like $7 for the cheap stuff? And it goes up from there?

I only get wine at restaurant if they have house wine for $5-7. Norm is more like $8-9 for non-fancy wine. I don't even consider buying above that price point though since I'm a $10 bottle buyer

Starting at around $10 I'd say. We're in London but not very central anymore after our baby led move to suburbia, in town it's usually more expensive

@mrbee: I'm now day dreaming about a large glass of malbec in our local pub (although it's only 9 in the morning)

Depends - at a pub/type place it is around $8...
at a bit of a nicer place I'd say $12-$15
And I am in the burbs just north of Boston

Honestly, it really depends on the restaurant/bar. Anywhere from $7 at a bar/casual restaurant to $15 for a really great wine by the glass at a nicer restaurant. I'd up a dollar or maybe two for Manhattan.

I think about 8-10$ depending on the wine. A bottle goes for about 30$

Anywhere from 8-15 I think... Still getting used to being able to look at the wine list again

Well....we don't really have any neighborhood bars but we have chain restaurants and they're probably $6-$8. I haven't had a glass of wine out in forever so it may have changed!!

Usually about $5-8 and then can go up for nicer stuff. Mark up here on bottles in restaurants is 300%

I'm in Paris so it's a but different here. Good wine starts at about 3€ a glass and goes to maybe 8€? The really good stuff is usually only sold by the bottle.

It's about $6 here, you can def. go up from there, though! Some places have $3 a glass night, so take that
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
Depends on the place, but I would say around $8... which is completely ridiculous because you can buy the whole bottle (most times) for a little more than that.

@hellobeeboston: I agree with you, and I'm in Boston.
Our corner bar has their cheapest around $7- $8...
At a nicer restaurant, $12-$15, and up of course.
