For just me, I have around $500, but that doesn't count the cushion built up in my checking account. For both of us it's around $1000, but again, it doesn't count the cushion or savings.

$800-$900.

A bit too tight.

Eta: That is with me working part time. If I worked full time, our number would be a lot higher!!! (2000+)

Right now, we should have roughly $3,500 left a month to put into savings, but that's after strictly "necessary" expenses (rent, electric bill, cable bill, cell phone bill, groceries, and gas.) It doesn't count things that pop up, like car repairs, buying gifts, or eating out.

However, we're definitely not *actually* saving that much, we're probably closer to $2,500.

This will change in a few months when we move into a new, pricier apartment, and SO goes down to part-time work hours while going back to school full-time.

$200-$300 on a good month. Things are tight around here.

@googly-eyes: Oh man, we are so, so bad about eating out. Especially now that I'm pregnant.

We pay ourselves about $100 a week each and thats to cover our personal expenses clothes, gifts, meals out, etc. And we've been trying to put $300 a month into savings. this will change once we need to pay daycare

@runnerd: Part of me misses having limited options for eating out, plus living only 5 minutes from my job, as opposed to the 30-40 minute evening commute I have now. Ick.

@runnerd: And, on the plus side, depending on the roads, you may have the option to run to/from work. I miss that the most.
