We moved in at the end of March last year so we didn't need to use the heat very much. We got our heat bill today and I about crapped myself! Last month it was $67 and this month $133. I am sure that isn't as much as some, but it sure did shock me. We have an old house with single pane windows so that doesn't help. We keep our heat at 67/68. What is your heat bill, on average, in the winter months?

We have oil...we didn't need them to completely fill the tank (thank goodness!) but our bill was $588. We prob have another full up in a few months and I'm assuming it'll be close to that amount or more

We just bought the house in November, and we don't have experience with having oil heat before but we are trying to be conservative since oil is a lot more of a cost than gas heat. But yea, I am assuming it'll be a couple months!

I'm not sure about just heat since ours is electric, but our electric bill is usually around $60 and during the winter it's closer to $80.

We have a 250 gal oil tank that gets filled probably 3x a year (live in new england) and we keep our thermostat at 67-69 in the winter. So annually, to heat our house and hot water we probably spend on average, maybe $1800-$2000.

We're really lucky. We have a wood boiler and free wood supply (just have to do the labor!). Our heat is at 80* and we pay nothing.
We do have propane back up. We have a 500 gallon tank that we fill once every 4 years or so. It cost $1,000 last time to fill it. We burn propane mostly for our stove and grill though. I can't remember the last time we turned the propane furnace on.

We are on the "budget plan" which means they take your average cost per month over the year, so even though it is more expensive in the winter, you pay the average all year and it all evens out. We usually end up with a credit at the end of the year actually. Our budget for hydro- gas and electric is $150

Right now, around $150 a month. We have all hardwood and unless we keep the temp at 71, it's just way too cold for LO.
Pre-LO, we kept it at 67 and just wore extra layers.

Last month it was $90, and I just got the bill this month and it was $170!!!! Yikes!

We heat via propane and live in New England and nov-April range from $350/month - $500/month. We have a very energy efficient home, propane is just insanely expensive. We keep our house about 62 during the day, 64-68 at night.

I think it was $60 last month. But it got cold this month, so I will be interested to see how much it is. Especially since DH installed gas fire logs and he turns it on every night.

At the peak of winter, our bill (gas/electric combined) is in the $400s. We have two units, though, and a lot of square footage...and tomorrow we're replacing the unit that heats most of the home.

It's been all over the place this winter so far, but our electric/gas bill during the winter months is anywhere from $150-$200. Yeah.

In the winter, anywhere from $50-70, but in the summer we usually spend about $300 a month for AC.

Ours is gas heat and it jumps to about $75 in the winter (from $22), but it's a tradeoff from our higher electric bills in the summer.

225 last month. Holy crap. In Boston we had a 2 bedroom apt and it was like 125 a month in the winter. We are in northern Nm now and it's been very cold and we have a big house. Yikes.

We spent $500 last month to fill our oil tank up. Halfway done, hoping I won't need I refill it till Jan. we keep our house at 64 during the day and 60 at night. At our old house and we had gas and we averaged $200 a month.

Our new house is so much less expensive to heat. It's about $20-40 a month in the winter.
Our old house was smaller but older and about $140 to heat during winter months.

We have electric heat and are on a equalized plan so we pay the same every month. We pay $30/month for all our electricity, but we live in an inside apartment, and a fairly temperate climate. We only turned the heat on 3 days last year. More this year now that we have a baby that doesn't have the option to just layer an extra blanket.
