I had only two very tiny skid marks, one stitch. And they bugged me for about three months. It can be a really slow process - sorry.

I had a second degree tear and it hurt for two weeks and was uncomfortable for maybe a month more after that!

Hope you're able to feel comfortable soon! I was way too scared to look down there pp and I didn't tear so I think your extremely brave for looking!

I was black and blue all over the place and had lots of stitches. I was also told breastfeeding may make it take longer to heal and was very dry for a long time
I was still sore at my 6 week checkup, the stitches felt odd (numb?) for months. It got easier, the first few weeks were rough though.

I didn't have as severe of a tear but was still very uncomfortable at two weeks and went in. Turns out the stitches pulle apart and got infected an I had emergency surgery that night that was super stressful while EBF and no freezer stash. So I try and comment on any thread like this and say please go see your OB if you think there's any chance its not jut normal recovery and pain!!

After the stitch repair I was still uncomfortable until 6 weeks pp when the OB realized I had granuloma scar tissue. Once that was removed I felt normal within two days.

I woke up at two weeks and felt like a different person. It was still painful at times, but I was able to go to church, go to a cookout, and hit up Home Depot and Target with minimal discomfort. Two days prior I was crying in my bed from the pain.

Mine hurt until the day the meds ran out (are you taking anything?). I was so worried that the meds would be done and magically they lasted just long enough for me to be relieved. I would say two weeks is about right. I was cut though. Didnt inquire as to how many stitches. How can u tell if your wound is bleeding vs normal lochia? I always assumed any blood was lochia...maybe I was wrong!

oh man i feel your pain! i only had a second degree tear, olive was less than 5 pounds, and i couldn't even sit for 2 weeks. but after 2 weeks i magically felt much better. i wasn't completely cured, but i could sit.

the peri bottle was my friend!!!

I had 3.5 degree tears. It was NOT fun, I'm so sorry! To answer your question, it took me 2.5 weeks to not wince when I sat down, 6 weeks to feel normal, 8 weeks to want to walk up and down our massive hill outside our door. I suggest the nice prescription strength tylenol.

Did someone show you how to stuff newborn diapers with ice? You can store them in the freezer and grab them when you need them. It acts as a pad and as an ice pack. Win. WIN.

@Arden: you are so brave to look! I'm STILL scared to look! I'm pretty sure I had stitches in to my urethra, and it took a really long time before that area felt normal. If I washed with soap a little forcefully, it would sting even months later but maybe I just heal longer. I hope yours heals in no time!

Youch! I called the midwives at about 3 weeks pp because I was having a lot of itching. At 6 weeks though I was all healed. I'd call, you know your body best.
