We have probably gotten six inches in the past six hours but I still don't think that is that much snow. 12 inches would probably make me change my mind.

It really depends on what I'm doing. This weekend, I'm working from home tomorrow and have no real plans for the weekend, and I'm in the city and don't need to drive anywhere, so bring it on, blizzard.
If I had to drive somewhere, shovel a driveway or shovel the car out, or basically do anything besides stay inside and eat soup and drink hot chocolate... probably a foot would be plenty. I like one good storm and then spring, please.
Some estimates are calling for 3 feet around here with this storm-- that's a bit excessive to me!

too much snow to do what?
Sometimes we get a few feet of snow. We have to work through it. I've never been sent home even in the worst snow storms.

@MrsH: ah. I see. That would have to be any amount of snow. I should have been born in the Caribbean!

I would agree, I think 12 inches is a little too much. We have a couple inches right now, and more to come probably 6-7 inches, and I think that's a good amount!

I think it depends on how fast it comes down. We have a couple inches here, and probably 5 more to come, but it is coming pretty slow so it isn't too bad. The roads are ok to drive on and I only shoveled twice so far.

@MrsH: Over this way we are getting slammed. I just pulled out the ruler and we have 8 inches, and no signs of stopping. We live about 30 minutes from the lake though so we get a lot of lake effect. Too much would be anything over a foot.

If it was the first snowfall of the year, I'd say 1 ft is enough. But, right now, it has been snowing every few days. There is a 4 ft high snow mountain in my backyard from where we've been throwing it from the path to the back alley. Apparently, we've already gotten 4 in more snow than we normally have in the whole winter (and we've probably still got 2 months to go). So right now, to say we have enough snow would be an understatement I AM SO TIRED OF THE SNOW!!!!!!!!
