I received a reminder postcard that told me to drink 32 ounces right before my scan on Monday. I thought last time I had to drink more than 32...or maybe I don't remember!

I wasn't told anything about a full bladder! I think I had a small dixie cup of water before I went in there.

My scan didnt require me to drink water. Just to eat something 30 minutes prior. I think it depends on the type of machines they use

They didn't tell me to drink anymore than normal and even asked if I had to use the restroom before we started.

I was told to do this before my NT scan. The US tech actually had me empty my bladder before she started. She told me that they will tell you to drink all that water because some US techs prefer to have your bladder full, and some do not. Also, if your uterus is shaped a certain way, it can make the scan easier for them apparently.

I didn't have to drink anything before. They always want a urine test right when I get there so it wouldn't make sense to ask to have a full bladder anyway.

They told me a full bladder but they were running behind that day, so i had to keep going to the restroom and letting a little out each time. It was torture!

none. They made me go pee and empty my bladder as we were wlaking back to the room. Different equipment maybe? I had to have an empty bladder for all of my scans

A lot! I had a FULL bladder but it was good b/c when I emptied it halfway through the exam, the baby flipped so we got to see the goods!

Nothing! It was a belly scan so I didn't need to drink water.

I think it was around that. I was reading their paperwork and a non-pregnant scan required even more water-ouch!
A friend told me the better hydrated you are, the clearer your scan will be, so I worked hard at drinking water all weekend, then 30-45 minutes before the scan I drank the 32 oz, and wasn't dying to pee at the scan.

Oh man! 32oz before the scan?! I don't think I'll be able to because my bladder is itty bitty and I know I'll have to go pee major before the actual scan happens....

I had to drink something like 24 or 32 ounces, but finish an hour before the scan...and then hold it! It was torture. Luckily, they only needed my bladder full for the first part of the scan, and about 10-15 minutes in, she let me get up and pee. Baby flipped over entirely when I did that, too, so we got a whole new angle afterwards!

I wasn't told anything specific, I probably had only a few ounces before so I knew I could lay there the whole time without having to pee

Mine was a belly scan, too @winniebee, and I had 30 or 40oz.
The lady checked the one thing she needed the full bladder for and then me go pee before the rest of the exam. Thank goodness--I was really uncomfortable!

I don't know...but it was way too much! The technician even to,d me she couldn't believe how full my bladder was!

I didn't have to drink water and peed in a cup first, anyway. I had 2 ultrasounds that day b/c the appointment coincided w/a kidney stone and for the 2nd one there was absolutely nothing in my stomach or bladder but they were still able to see the gender (but not the kidney stone!).
