We rarely buy our girls toys unless it's a holiday/birthday. We will occasionally if it's something really small or a super good deal. Basically we don't budget much for new toys.
How often do you buy your LO new toys? Do you have a budget for them?

We go ttrough phases. Usually it's books and small toys. We'll go months without buying anything and buy a few things one month. We aren't huge into bdays and holiday gifts because they're gifted so much from our friends and family. And they're back to back for Ds.

Not very often, she has so many. Occasionally we will use a toy purchase as a reward (potty training, ect.) I feel like she's been getting a bunch lately, I think we are preparing her for not being an only child, and are buying her gifts to make up for the fact her world is about to be rocked

Very rarely. That's what grandparents and aunts are for.
Looking around my messy living room there are probably twenty toys on the floor... We've purchased two of them.

Not really. We have Christmas, her bday (and we'll distribute them slowly depending on what she gets), and then grandparents will randomly send her stuff. We also get used toys from SIL sometimes. We may buy her a $2 ball (she likes those big vinyl balls) from Target sometimes or a cheap $5 puzzle from TJ Maxx....she has wooden puzzles, stackers, blocks, and a variety of balls, and honestly, those are her favorites so they haven't lost their appeal yet! Dh picked her up a little Minnie Mouse doll for Valentines Day...*shrug*

If you count stuff like stickers and books as toys, then often. Straight up toys, not as often, but probably like once a month (small toy). I don't budget for it, usually we hit the $1 section at the craft store or something similar. Definitely under $20/month at very most.

Almost never. We have a huge family, and our relatives like to give her things when they see her, so she is getting a ton of stuff without our even buying anything.
My one weakness is books, though. I love children's books. I buy probably one a month (and that's exercising serious restraint -- I'd love to buy more!).

Never, these days. We're minimalists, and she already has a ton of toys that she loves. Sometimes we'll be out and she'll ask for something small, and I often say yes, because it's fairly rare. But mostly, new toys get played with for a few days, then ignored.
My husband saw an awesome marble maze at the museum yesterday, and said that he just loved those things. So I think we'll get her one for her next birthday, so that they can build it and play together.
