It is always a disaster... it makes me crazy. MIL and SIL both keep their house spotless (SIL has 2 kids under 4 even), and I feel like *such* a failure. SO glad to see other mommas have crazy houses too!

Always. It was cleaner while I was working since we weren't home to make messes. My 18 month old only naps an hour and a half a day, so while I try to keep up, there is just not enough time. My husband doesn't clean. Ever. He likes chaos. It drives me insane. But at least he never complains about having a clean house.

My house is always a disaster. Every once in a while I will spend an ENTIRE weekend cleaning it up. It doesn't last long. i put baskets everywhere to toss toys and "stuff" into.

@swurlygurl: my sister had 3 under 5 and her house is immaculate too. Ugh.

@winniebee: Wow! That's impressive! I really really miss our maid service. I am just imagining how bad our house will look when it's busy season and I have to up my hours and work weekends. DH already works 80 + hours a week.

@winniebee: Agh - I don't get it! So jealous of those that can keep a clean house. My husband if half opposite of yours... he makes big messes and doesn't clean, BUT always complains that the house is a mess... haha

@swurlygurl: my sister is compulsive and her kids still nap a lot! I'm going with that theory. But I'm jealous.

@swurlygurl: My husband makes a mess too. I call it the "Dave trail"

My house is generally somewhat picked up, but there are always piles of miscellaneous things--in the same spots week after week--that I can never seem to straighten up permanently! But I am always behind on laundry, there are always toys all over the living room (but I am sorta okay with that, because that only takes a minute or two to remedy), and I constantly leave things scattered about on my bathroom counter. *sigh*
@littlek: I would freak out if we didn't have our cleaning team . . . I have no idea how I could keep up with cleaning even just the bathrooms and the floors on top of working and everything else!

@MsLipGloss: It is bad. We can pay to have a landscape company but not a maid? DH actually mentioned to me yesterday, he **thinks he can make room in the budget for a maid, so I think he is breaking down.

Our house is always cluttered, and it doesn't help that the hubby is part of the problem! He likes to leave his clothes all over the house and not throw away/put up used cups immediately. I'm trying to see if we can afford hiring a cleaning person bc I'm absolutely sick and tired of our dirty house. Because like you, when it comes to picking between spending time with DS or cleaning, DS wins every.single.time.

well we just moved into our house and unpacked everything, so at the moment, everything is super clean- but i know it will be impossible to keep up! wishful thinking

@winniebee: I agree w/you - I think my house is always messy b/c we're home so often. It's just impossible to keep it clean when there's a toddler who takes out everything I've just put away.
The cleanliness is something I'm constantly battling. I am a complete and total neat freak, so it's really hard for me to not constantly pick up after LO. The things like bathrooms, toilets, appliances, etc are all clean, but everything else looks like a tornado went through it. I'm slowly trying to accept the fact that life with a curious toddler means messy and disorganized home.

@winniebee: I have a one-hour or less napper, so I feel you on that part!!!! The only time to clean is during nap or after bed, and by bedtime I'm too tired!

i feel like this most of the time except for the 1 hour after the cleaning team comes each week. then it all goes to shit.

My house is literally never ever ever spotless. It's just not possible for us right now. But, I feel like a couple of rooms are out of disaster mode at least once a week, but it usually looks like our closet and dishwasher and toy box exploded in every room. UGH.

@mediagirl: I asked for baskets/bins for christmas from my MIL for this exact reason! I think it's genius!
