We almost never go to the movies unless DH wins tickets, which has been a rare 3 times this past year. I love watching movies but $25 just for tickets is a little too much for me. I will go if it's a movie that I am dying to see and can't wait until it comes out on DVD but that's not often.

We go to the movies 2-3 times a month. The theater by our house has early bird tickets for $5 so it's not expensive to go.

We saw Unbroken in the theatres right around Christmas, and the last movie we saw before that was Mockingjay, in november of 2013 when I was in early labor with DD2!
Movies aren't really a happening thing when you have kiddos! Bummer, cause I love the movies and popcorn!

Maybe once every couple of months for shows we can't wait for (the imitation game was one since we are geeks). It helps to have a drive in because we don't need a sitter (he comes with us and under 5 is free) and we get two movies for the price of one.

Never lol! I think last we saw in theaters was when I was pregnant with DD1!! I don't even remember the movie.

Maybe like once a year? I hate going to the movies. DH goes with friends or by himself sometimes. I love movies but I find the theater experience beyond annoying.

About twice a year, movies are pretty expensive here ($17 per adult ticket for a normal cinema) so we only go when there's a movie we really want to see on. Last time we went was August last year for our last date night and we saw If I Stay.

Once right before DD1 was born and then once this Christmas, over 2 years later! I can't justify spending the money to likely fall asleep in the theatre (my bad habit).

Does it count if you take LO to the movies? I took her to see Paddington a couple weeks ago. Otherwise for DH and me, we only get to go 1-2x/year if my parents babysit. I buy discounted tickets at Costco.

There are a lot of really cheap second run theatres in Portland that play movies for 3-5 dollars and serve food and alcohol. I went to see malieficent at one with a friend in the fall. That's the only movie I've been too since our son was born aside from a family day showing of Planes that didn't go over awesome.
When we get date nights we usually want conversation.

1-2 a month. We really enjoy watching movies on date nights and try to have one at least every month (with dinner/lunch & shopping beforehand usually).

I stopped going a long time ago. I always had the luck of getting stuck in the theater with people that whisper the whole time, illegally record the movie, or slurp their soda/shake their ice. I'm much happier waiting for the DVD or On Demand.

DH used to get movie tickets through his work at $5 per ticket. The company sold, and he made sure to buy $200 worth of tickets. We used to go to the movies a lot before kids. Now we go once or twice a year. We still have some tickets left. If I had to pay full price, I'm not sure it would be worth it to go to the movies. I would rather wait for it to come out on DVD.

DH hates movie theatres. The last movie I saw with him was Skyfall and the last movie I saw in general was Saving Mr. Banks. It's expensive to goplus anyone I have to go with would only be available in the evening and I'd rather get to bed at a decent time. lol

DH and I love movies so it's our go-to date option (like most people, I know, so boring ). Since we don't have kids yet, we go 2-3 times per month. We try to limit ourselves to just drama on the big screen, saving comedy and such for Redbox nights. We have an AMC theater about 10 minutes away, with cushy reclining seats; and it's only $6 a ticket for movies before noon on Saturdays. Otherwise we use our grad student IDs to get $7 student prices at Harkins at night.

We haven't been to a movie since May of 2013 when we saw The Great Gatsby. 
Kids have changed so much and our frequency at movies have definitely been one thing they changed.

Twice in the last 3 years- the last one we saw was Thor 2 and before that was the 2011 Muppets. Before kids we used to go once a month or so. I'd rather wait for movies to come out on Redbox, I have a hard time sitting still for 2 hours, I prefer multitasking while a movie is on these days.
Plus I'd hate to waste a date night on a movie when I could be talking to my husband and drinking an alcoholic beverage!

every few months or less. occasionally we will spring on a babysitter for a date night. usually for a special occasion like one of our bdays or we tried to do for it valentine's day this year but our babysitter cancelled! (although we rescheduled for feb. 28 as we were so disappointed when she cancelled). and then we also get to go to the movies when my mom is visiting and can babysit for free!
