How often do you get photos done? I really want to have portraits taken but I'm not sure if I really need to. We had pictures done in sept. Then for her birthday we went to Disney and got the picture package. Grr why do they have to be so expensive.

I've averaged more than one a year so far, but mostly because we had two photo shoots gifted at various times. Otherwise, it's be one every year or year and a half-ish.

We did newborn, 3 month, ~8 month for Xmas, 12 month and a mini-session for 2 years. DD #2 is coming this summer, so we'll do newborn again. After that, we'll probably wait until Xmas pics again.

We've never had professional pictures done. All the ones I like are too expensive and we just don't prioritize it in our budget.

Never "official" ones, but once a year I make a point to have my sister come over and take some nice family photos of us. She's not a professional but takes pretty good pics. I can't see myself spending tons of $$ on them, so far my favourite photos are our candids anyway

We've never had pro photos done. But I do a lot of photography myself and I'm doing a project where I take pics of my LOs weekly. I'm content with that.

My daughter is 1.5 and we're averaging twice a year. We're lucky to have a few great photographer nearby with bet decent prices, especially for mini sessions. I can't imagine we'll keep up with this pace forever but probably at least until our next little one is 2-3.

Twice a year, we have been doing Christmas photos every year, and then daycare does school photos too.

2x a year. For her birthday in March and family photos in the fall for Christmas cards. This year it will be 3, we are hiring one of my favorite film wedding photographers to shoot 10 year anniversary portraits in the fall.

Never. I was going to do them today, but someone refused to take a nap until it was too late, so I cancelled.

Of just my son, professionally? Never. Oh actually scratch that, he gets school photos, do those count? We buy one sheet of portraits.
I prioritize family photos, but those are just once a year, usually as part of a fundraising effort.

We do family photos once a year so will get some of LO then. I did get pro newborn photos, but other than that will just take photos myself.

DD is 16 mo and so far we DIY'd her newborn shoot, and got 1 year photo's done. I think we won't do anything till we have 2nd LO.
