Under 3 she rarely got juice - maybe sips of orange juice when we went out to breakfast. After 3 we let her have juice when we go out to eat - sometimes she chooses juice and sometimes she chooses milk. At home she drinks milk and water and OJ if she asks for it (rarely asks for it - maybe once a month if that). I let her have juice at parties/events. We buy juice pouches for convenience when we're packing a lunch to go. She's not obsessed with it and often goes weeks/months without juice so I don't really care if there's a month full of parties and dining out where she's drinking juice 2-3 times a week.

My son didn't have juice until after he turned two (I don't really drink it beyond grapefruit juice) so I never even thought to give it to him.
He currently drinks that Motts Tots, the diluted apple juice. Its in the pantry with his snacks when he wants it. I also like the Bolthouse juices in the fridge case in the grocery store. He likes the C Boost and he gets a small glass (maybe 3 ounces) in the mornings with breakfast.
This is not my hill to die on.

My oldest used to have constipation troubles and she'd get a cup of apple juice every day. About a year ago she stopped being constipated so I stopped the juice and haven't bought any since.
My FIL's caregiver has apple juice on hand when we go visit him so it's special when they visit.
So within a year my answer her changed from everyday to 1-2 per month.

When we have it, he can have one cup a day that is diluted. I buy oj when I think he is getting sick.

Not often. She generally only drinks water, she doesn't even really like milk.

Very, very rarely. Basically 3 occasions:
- If she's sick and needs fluids but won't take water
- If she's at a grandparent's house and they give it to her without asking us (grrr)
- Very occasionally, we will go out for a "treat" and she will actually ask to have OJ instead of say, a cookie. Lol.

I voted 1-2 times weekly, but it's really between that and only on special occasions. We don't really keep any at home, so it really depends. She can have some at parties, at play dates, etc and we're not opposed to giving some to her at home if do have. So it can be like once a month or once a week!

Only when we eat out at a restaurant that comes with it or special occasions. So probably 1-2 times a month.

we usually buy orange juice on the weekends for LO (3.5 years old). i put down 3-6x/week because i think they get juice at daycare for birthday parties and whatever else.

We dont intentionally restrict it - but its just not something that is in our house often.
When we do allow her to have it we try to keep it to 4oz or less - just to avoid the sugar crazies...

Only as a rare treat. She's almost 2 yo and she's had half a small juice box once and then the occasional sip of something here and there. I drink OJ with breakfast on non-work mornings and she just knows it's my juice! I see so many kids with terrible cavities getting extractions that run around with juice in sippy cups that I'm a bit paranoid. And luckily LO loves water from her water bottle so hydration isn't a problem even though she's not a big milk fan.

I'm not the juice police. We're an "everything in moderation" household.

@tofuwad: lol DD1 alwaysssss wanted my coffee and one day i was like fine, I'll show her and let her have some and she will hate it. Totally backfired!

After 2 it's not something I worry about. Some weeks they don't have any, some days they might have a couple glasses.. Usually we just have OJ around and I make sure there's no added sugars or fake sugars. But honestly think if you're buying not crap added or super filtered juice then its fairly healthy.

Maybe once a day, sometimes less. But me and DH are both from East Europe - the juice there is a lot less sugary and there are a lot of good veggie juices. The stores in our neighborhood carry the same stuff, so we usually buy that. If we get regular supermarket juice, even us adults put water in it because it tastes way too sweet otherwise.

Depends on age my 3y old has one glass of unsweetened breakfast juice in the morning (not oj due to allergy) and one or two glasses of grape or blackcurrent juice mixed with lots of water in the afternoon/evening. It's plain water the rest of the day.
My DD is 1.5 and doesn't get any juice yet except for when she sneaks off to drink from her brother's glass.

Daily but we dilute it a lot. If it's orange juice its about 80% water. If it's a juice box we only buy the Honest juices which are at least 50% water.

I used to be on the no juice train but uh...she tried it around 2 and loves it. We don't actively restrict so it's no biggie to her, just another drink option. Some days she'll choose diluted juice a couple times, some days she doesn't want it at all. If it was all she ever wanted, then I'd worry!

I said 1-2 a week but it is probably more. I didn't think about daycare. They have juice a couple times a week.
At home it is only on weekends and rarely during the week. I always dilute it at home.

My 18 month old has no idea what the words "juice" or "candy" mean. We never buy any, and haven't given her any at parties.
My sister drank it as a kid and had horrible teeth, so I'm trying to avoid that. I wasn't a juice fan, and had few cavities.
She has books that mention juice, so I will eventually have to think of a way to explain juice that doesn't pique her interest too much!

I voted "special occasions" but really it's once every couple of weeks or so.

@yellowbird: juice is pretty rare - they both prefer water.
But if you meant sugary drinks then its once a week - when we go out to dinner DS gets a root beer and DD gets sprite

Rarely. I'm pretty strict about it and they like plain water so I don't feel a need to offer juice. They have Honest water when we have birthday parties and can have juice boxes if offered at other parties, holidays, special occasions, etc.
