I'm curious to know what the norm is. "New" could mean new to them toy. Also, it doesn't have to be a huge expensive toy and can include gifts. To simplify answers, birthdays and holidays are not included. Craft items and books are also not included (such as Play-Doh, stickers, crayons, beads, etc.)

Ex. If your LO receives toys on holidays, official or non-official (Easter, Christmas, Valentines, Halloween, Waffle day, etc.), aside from his birthday, then your answer should be: Only on special occasions.

If LO receives a toy (new or used) every time your parents visit - it counts. Just average out the amount of times they visit in a year, plus all the other non-holiday/special occasions a toy is given.
