Ours was built 1905 and it's full of character. We've completely renovated the house with new wiring, plumbing and heating.

Ours was built in 1956. We couldn't afford a new, quality house and there are no subdivisions in our area (which is actually part of the reasons I like living here so much). It's made of concrete block so structurally, it's not going anywhere, which is great in hurricane-prone Florida. It was also flipped before we bought it so it has new floors, new kitchen, new bathrooms and has been updated quite a bit cosmetically. The wiring, roof, and plumbing is also new.
ETA not that our house isn't quality... I meant, there are newer houses in our area but they aren't built well, and the ones that are are out of our price range.
