My lo is 3. She takes one nap a day and it is typically 1.5-2 hours long.

She naps about 50% of the time and if she does it's about 2hrs. She's 25mths.

3.5 next month. He hasn't napped at home in 7 months He occasionally naps in the car, anywhere from 45 mins to 1.5 hours if it's a long trip.

He's 3 and takes one nap a day. Around 2-2.5 hrs at daycare, and 2-3hrs at home on the weekends.

A and B are 17 months and napping right now. They usually nap from 12-2:30. Sometimes A only makes it till 1:30 and sometimes B sleeps 3+ hrs.

Jessie is 2 and usually naps once a day for anywhere between 2 to 3.5 hours.
Sydney is almost 5 months and she takes about 3 naps a day (sometimes) 2 short 1 hour naps and generally one long 2 or 3 hour nap while big sister naps too.
nectarine / 2132 posts
DS is 3 and naps about 75% of the time. He can skip and it makes bedtime early and lovely, but it's not fun dealing with him the entire afternoon before bedtime if he does skip. His naps are usually 2-2.5 hours
DD is 13 months and takes 2 naps a day, 1.5-2 hours each.
honeydew / 7463 posts
13 months and he still takes 2 naps. About 9-10:30/11 and 1-2:30/3. So he naps a total of 3-4 hours a day.
I think he might be on the road to consolidating the two, but I hear it takes a while to get there! I'm excited for it (more freedom to go places!) but dreading it (less time to myself, longer days with him) at the same time.

LO will be 3 next month and currently takes naps ranging from 0 minutes to 2 hours.

She is 3 and takes 1 2 hour long nap
Ds is 6 months and takes 2 2 hour naps and 1 30 min catnap

LO is 17 months and has 1 nap per day usually from 75-90 minutes. Sigh.
She has also recently started skipping naps some days. Like today. I'm scared she is trying to drop her nap all together
nectarine / 2641 posts
LO is nearly 3 and dropped his nap at 2.5 He would still take one, but any nap (even 15 minutes) means both late to bed and awake early (or even awake for hours in the middle of the night), so we quit.
LO2 is 4 months and takes lots of naps

@Mae: noooo!! That is way too young! Poor you!!

@mediagirl: right?!?!?! She's been sitting in her crib for 50 min so far She doesn't really cry just sort of wanders around her crib and whines a little. So I try to let her go a while to hope she will fall asleep. But I think I'm about to go give up. I really really really hope that this is just some sort of (early) 18 month regression thing? And not the true end of naps. Because nooooooooooo. This SAHM needs a break yo.

He is 18 months (wag actually almost 19!) and naps at 1230 or 1 for 1.5-2 hours typically. Today he napped from 1230-215.

This just changed again. He is 31 months and he takes 1, 1 hour nap. He is a grumpy gus when he doesn't nap, but he is actually pushing his bed time later and later and I'd like to drop the nap except he goes to daycare so that makes it harder.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
LO1 will be 2 next month and he takes about a 1.5-maybeee 2 hour nap.
LO2 is 2.5 months and he takes 5ish naps, ranging from catnaps to 2 hours.

She's almost three and takes one 1.5-2 hr nap. She's finally napping today after a week of nap strikes! I'd say she was ready to drop but without it she's cranky and falling asleep at 4:30!!
kiwi / 643 posts
DS is 2 and takes one nap a day - it used to be close to 3 hours almost every time, now its more like 1.5-2 hours. Occasionally he will nap longer than that, but it doesn't happen as often anymore.
kiwi / 643 posts
@Mae: I thought DS was doing the same thing a few months ago, but luckily he went back to napping. I think it was some kind of developmental thing or growth spurt - I just kept putting him down no matter what. I also had to look at our achedule and change things, because I realized he wasnt tired enough when I was putting him down. He normally needs to be up for 6-6.5 hours now in the morning before he falls asleep. If I put him down too early, it takes him forever to fall asleep (and sometimes he won't) and same if I put him down too late. Then he's just overtired and won't nap at all

Turning 2 in a week and she naps 2-3 hours every day. Knock on so much wood.

16 months. It totally varies, and I have no idea why/how, but- from 1 hour to 2.5 hours. I guess a typical nap would be 1 hour 40 minutes or so. I'm happy with anything 1.5 hours or more.
pomegranate / 3604 posts
3 yrs & naps about 25% of the time, usually 2 hours.
14 months - 1.5 hours in the morning & 2-2.5 hours in the afternoon. I think he might be moving to one nap though since his morning nap is getting difficult.

DS is 13 months and takes 2 naps a day. Anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. If he doesn't take his morning nap, his afternoon one is generally closer to 3 hours.

LO is 4.5 years old and does not nap (stopped at 2). LO2 will be 2 in a few weeks, and he takes one nap after lunch. It usually lasts 90 minutes because we have to go pick up big brother from school. He can nap up to 2.5 hours if time allowed.

@NurseDMB: I"m hoping it is just a phase! I don't think I could possibly give her more time. Right now we wake her up at 8am every day (because otherwise she definitely won't nap) and I put her down at 1:30 (so 5.5 hrs). I used to have to wake her at 3:30 or she wouldn't sleep at bedtime (8pm) but she started waking at 3pm about a month ago. At the same time, she's been fighting bedtime a bit too. So right now on a BEST case scenario day she's up at 8, down at 1:30 for nap (falls asleep in maybe 5-10 min on a good day) then up at 3, down for bed at 8 (and again takes maybe 10-20 min to fall asleep).

3.5 years old. He naps for about 2 hours at daycare and we usually skip naps on the weekends. I'm getting ready to tell daycare they need to cut his nap down because it's affecting his nighttime sleep during the week! It's been really hard to get him to sleep before 9pm whereas on the weekends when he doesn't nap he is asleep at 8pm.

LO is 3 and naps once a day for 1.5-2 hr. Sometime she skips it or takes the 20 minute cat naps and we don't stress it.

She's turning 3 in December and takes one 2 hour nap on weekdays and sometimes 45 minutes on weekends when we're on the go.
clementine / 830 posts
The almost 3 year old naps about an hour a day, exclusively in the car. Yes, it sucks but I figure it's a temporary battle so not stressing it.
The 19 month old naps 1.5 hours, once a day.

Ds1 is three next month and in the process of dropping his one nap. He sleeps earlier on no nap days and is asleep by 730 and sleeps 12 hours. If he naps it's usually an hour and doesn't fall asleep right away at night and sleeps 11 hours.
Ds2 is 3 months and naps 3-4x a day. From 45 min to 2+ hours each.
pineapple / 12793 posts
DD1 will be three in January. She naps 2.5-3 hours maybe 80% of the time. She's trying to drop it I think but I'm not ready to give it up.
DD2 naps 1.5-2 hours in the morning and 2.5 in the afternoon.
When I get a double nap it's a glorious 2.5 hours of productivity or extreme laziness.

My daughter is 17 months old and her nap is usually 1-1.5 hours long. I can count on my hand the number of times she's slept longer than 1.5 hours.
