LO is 4.5 months old and I generally put him down for a nap after about 60-75 minutes of awake time. I feel like most babies his age can stay up for longer, but he almost always falls right to sleep so I figure he must be tired!

7 months and they are usually awake 2-2.5 hours. Longer before bed, since they are down to 3 naps. It's so much easier to do things now that they don't need to sleep so frequently, and their schedules are starting to align more!
@hilsy85: don't sweat it. My kids always needed to sleep more frequently than they 'should' at any given age. We just got off 90 min awake times about a month ago!

I was wondering this today....my Lo is 16 weeks and has been at a 90 min awake time since 12 weeks. She was taking 2 2 hour naps but lately they havr been very short, 30-45 mins. I read that when naps are getting shorter they might need a longer awake time, so wondering if I should increase it, but she is tired by the 90 min point and goes down easy as well so I dunno...

LO is 6 months and is awake 90 minutes to 2 hours then 2.5 or so before bedtime. She gets cranky and showing tired signs within the window so I put her down. I figure she will have longer awake intervals when she is ready.

LO is one week from 10 months. Since about 6 months she's been on a loose 2-3-4 schedule. First wake period is 2 hours (usually 1.5), second is 3 hours, and third is 4 hours.

E is 9months and on weekends his awake time is 2-2.5 hrs. On weekdays at daycare all that goes out the window and he'll stay awake for 6 hours, ugh.

@NovBaby1112: hmm interesting about possiby needing to increase awake times! I hate to keep him up if he's obviously tired...
@MerryC: I can't wait til we get down to a solid 3 naps a day!

Ohmygod this is such a sensitive subject for us. DS is 13 weeks and just pulled a 4-hour stretch this morning, which is, sadly, not that uncommon. I start looking for sleep signals/attempting his nap routine after 90 minutes of wake time, but he fights naps SO hard that his actual wake time is much longer. At least once a week he does a 4-hour stretch. But on average? Maybe 2-2.5 hours.
DD, also 13 weeks, can go 60-90 minutes, tops.

He's almost 7 months and his normal awake time is only 90 minutes. His last awake period before bed is usually closer to 2 hours, but any longer than that he starts getting really cranky. I'd love it if he would stay awake longer/nap longer but I'm following his lead.

90 minutes was about right for us at 4.5 months. At 6 months it was up to 2 with maybe a 3 hr stretch before bed.
At 9.5 months he's on a 2.5, 3.5, 4 ish schedule (2 naps) and his naps are 1.5-2 hrs.

5 months and her awake time is usually 2 -21/2 hours. She's not a very good napper though!

Seems like there really is a range! But I guess my guy is just a bit sleepier than most

LO's usually awake about 90minutes-2 hours between naps at 6 months old. We started doing this after I got off of maternity leave. I wished we did that sooner. It's been easier to judge his tiredness better.

@hilsy85: at that age, LO had really short awake times too. She needed so many naps...i think she napped for a total of 5 hours a day! Now at 10.5 months, her awake times are 3 hours. I know in the morning she could go down at 2.5 hours, but i am trying to get her ready for daycare's 1 nap schedule!

He's up about 1.5-2 hours. First thing in the morning we like to put him down for his first nap after he's only been up for an hour. He's 4.5 months old.

14 weeks, average time is 90 min. and then upwards of 2 hours in that last nap/bedtime gray fuzzy area.

Almost 14 months, I notice he shows signs of being tired after 3-4 hours of awake time. Right now he is fighting us on 2 naps a day, he seems to prefer 1 but is a total beast by dinner when he does that.

LO is coming up on five months and her awake time is between 1.5 and 2 hours usually. Bedtime is around 1930 and I try to have her still napping at 1600 but she can cope with a four hour wake time right before bed if she's slept well during the day.

E is almost 5 months old and is awake 1.5-2 hours between naps. It's usually pretty close to the 1:45 mark.
