I'm genuinely curious! My 3.5 has not asked us for anything for Christmas. But we also have not asked her what she wants for Christmas.

@looch: haha I haven't seen ours yet. Or the Target one! So, what you're telling me is, I should hide it when it arrives?

We asked her what she wants, she told us. She has not searched us out to tell us.

DS asked for a bike with pedals for his birthday starting at 2.5. He hasn't ever asked for anything since, and he's close to 5. A few weeks ago I asked what he wanted for his birthday/Christmas and he said he didn't know.

E randomly told me that "baby sister" needed a big train for Christmas, and a night or two later said that "baby sister" wanted a Gordon train

It just started this year for us, he's 3.5. When he sees something he wants in the last few months, we've been telling him we should put it on his Christmas list. So, now he's just started asking for things for Christmas.

@looch: I love those catalogs! Otherwise I wouldn't know the names of things they want!
I give them sharpies and tell them to circle away!
DD is 4.5 and hasn't asked for anything on her own w/o me prompting.
DS on the other hand has brought home several lists so far - he is 7. I would say age 5 is when it started

@Mamaof2: haha that is what I do with my nephews. They circle it and send me a picture. My niece used to do that too but sadly, outgrew toys when she was about 11. *sob*

My 3yr old son said Santa was going to bring him a big, big, big dinosaur...not sure where he got that from.

Last year at 2.5 he asked for "big trucks," but nothing specific. This year, at 3.5, he's got a list of very specific items he wants. He asked Santa for 2 of them when we met him this past weekend.

not yet, and she's almost 3.
ETA: That's not quite true, she wants an elephant for Christmas, but I'm not sure exactly what form this elephant is supposed to take!

This year....he's asking for EVERYTHING. It's "I wanna buy that" or "can santa bring that?!" He's 3.5 and watches plenty of TV with toy commercials, apparently.

He asked Santa for a train and books. I keep asking and he keeps saying "big train". No idea what that means. Books I can take care of.

This year (3.5). I've asked LO a bunch of times what she wants Santa to bring her and the answer is always the same: RINGS. 3 and already demanding (more) jewelry - we're in trouble.

She is 2 and doesn't get it yet but I have a feeling as the Christmas season goes on and she gets more of a sense of how it works, she might!

Mine is almost 3. She is uninterested in the toy catalogs, but she keeps telling me that she hopes Santa will bring her a magnifying glass for Christmas.

It hasn't really happened yet. My kids are 3 and 5.5. They don't really watch commercials or see catalogs so they're always short on gift ideas!

LO will be 3 in Feb and hasn't made any Christmas requests yet. She is asking daily for a "Let it go" necklace for her birthday.

My 3 year old got the TRU and even worse a Thomas Wooden Railway catalog. Santa is apparently going to bring all the toys. When I tell him Santa just brings 1, it changes every 5 minutes. Most often it is something Thomas or train related.
