Only time I have left my almost-two year old was to give birth to her little sister!

She was 6 months, and I think it was harder on us than her. She was with her grandparents and didn't really notice or remember! I think anytime before 9 months is a good time to get away because that's usually before stranger anxiety or separation anxiety hits. Have a great time and enjoy yourselves!

8 months. My parents took her overnight so we could celebrate our anniversary. It was awesome sleeping without a monitor next to my bed. We missed her like crazy but my parents texted me updates the whole time.

@Mrs Hedgehog: We are leaving her next weekend for the first time with her grandparents, she will be 7 months! We don't even have a good reason (but we will try to plan something) we just wanted to get the first time out of the way, I feel like the longer I wait the harder it will be for both of us!.

ETA: I guess desperately needing a decent nights sleep is probably a good enough reason though right

We've never both been away at the same time. (2 and 4 years old)

17 months when I was in hospital with my second baby! Ha! Likely it will be a while before we leave both alone overnight.

5 weeks I work graveyards. It was a mess and I was a mess. I actually was doing pretty good considering, until my husband went insane txting me and complaining that he wasn't going to get any sleep that night and she was crying non stop and eating non stop. Ya... so that was fun.

It hasn't happened yet and she'll be a year on Monday (what the what??)! I'm hoping maybe for our anniversary in May but it's not looking too promising bc she's still nursing to sleep and then again in the early morning...

14 months. I was afraid to leave him before he was routinely STTN while traveling. I didn't want my parents to be up all night. He started STTN at 7 months but was inconsistent while away from home.

2 months I think. A sweet sweet friend who is like a second mom to me offered to watch him overnight, so we dropped him off at like 6 and picked him up at 8 the next morning. It was heavenly I knew he was well taken care of, and I got a full night of sleep and a (somewhat lame and boring) date night with hubby. I really think it is important for parents to still take time for themselves and their marriage, and I think there is absolutely nothing to feel guilty about.

12 weeks. I'm glad we did it early; it was actually easier to leave her earlier when we more needed a break and time away as adults than now when she is so much fun and so much easier!

DD was 20 months old. I went away to have baby brother.

My kids will be 17 months and 3 yrs 2 months old when I take a 2 night momcation.

LO is 18 months and DH and I are getting ready to take our babymoon for baby #2. This will be our first overnight trip (two nights actually). I'm a nervous wreck, but I know it will be better to do it now than have the first time be while I'm in the hospital recovering. I'm having a c-section, so that will be 3 nights in the hospital, and I'm already freaking out about that too!

Just once at 8 months. I REALLY needed the sleep, so my mom kept him. Coincidentally, it was the first time he nearly STTN. Go figure!

17 months and i've gone out for the evening several times now, but i am always there in the morning. He STTN now so i probably could do one night and he would only miss me in the morning. I would only consider it right now if DH was not with me, but the one there for LO in the morning!

Haven't yet but it will be in august when hr is 25 months to have his baby brother

Myself away overnight: 5 months for work but I was gone less than 24 hours and got less sleep than I did when I was at home.

DH and I together: 8 months again for work but we stayed in an awesome hotel and got a nice breakfast.

Next time will be at 17 months for a wedding (just attending!) for 2 nights. This one I'm more nervous (but excited!) for.

15 months, we went out overnight for our anniversary! I had a sleepover with a girl friend later that year, and then we went out one more time just before he turned 2.
