ds is 13 months and we're talking about LO#2 timeline...ds will likely be 16 months+ before we actively TTC #2; even tho technically we are NTNP right now since i never went back on bcp and AF showed up at 4.5 months pp! 
(abstinence is also a key player some months ;P)

It wasn't active TTC but she was almost 7 months. OMG...that is how old Baby 2 is and I'm not ready for a baby!

LO will be 18-20 months old when we start to TTC #2. We pushed it back to April/May after a discussion about it.

DS was 8 months when I got off the pill. We waited 3 months to TTC. We got pregnant with LO#2 the first month and found out the day after DS' 1st birthday.

When he turned 1, was when we stopped using protection and we would be ok if it happened.

I went off BCP at 10 months, and we start really "trying" this month, when DD will be 11 months. Scary!

We started NTNP when Xander was 6 months. I don't know when (if ever...) we'll actually TTC!

My first LO was 12 months when I got pregnant with #2. My OB agreed that 18 months is ideal for your body to replace all the nutrients, etc. that pregnancy requires. I specifically asked about weighing that recommendation against everything you hear about the risk of birth defects after 35 and she said it's tough, but that she would never recommend anyone try until at least 9 months. I think this stuff is hard as everyone's bodies, plans and ability to mentally and physically handle pregnancy and parenting young children are so different!

DS was 9 months when we started TTC. They will be 19 months apart when LO2 arrives.

I'm on the fence about this. Either we start trying around 14 months-ish, or wait until DS turns 2. As much as I LOVE having a baby and would love another, I don't know if I want to rush it. It would be nice to have more time with just DS.
@littlek: Can I ask why your doctor had you wait until 18 months? I had a c-section and am wondering if it would be wise to do the same.

@skipper2010: I went into premature labor at 34 weeks and the doctor wanted to make sure I was 100% recovered from child birth. I also have a heart valve issue and pregnancy isn't great for my body.

@skipper2010: I've heard the recommendation on 18 months as well. 18 months seems to be enough time to recover and get the body back in shape. My OB didn't recommend it, but I've heard it before.

DD is almost 14 months and this is the first month we didn't limit the days we could have sex. But I'm trying not to try and just go with the flow. Whatever happens happens!

Around 20 months I went off BCP. Got my BPF at 24 months! I had really long 40-45 days cycles after coming off BCP.

I have read the 18 month recommendation too but since I am already 36 I decided to cheat by two months. I feel pretty well recovered, I didn't have a c section And I highly doubt we will get pregnant before he is 18 months old anyway but it will be nice to get cracking!

If we decide to, I think M will be at least 20 months old. I just can't imagine TTC now

@Sparkler: That's so interesting. It seems like every doctor has a different recommendation. The MW practice I saw for my pregnancy and delivery recommended waiting 2+ years (which is the WHO recommendation). My endometriosis doctor said we could start trying after 6 months. I think you have to think long and hard about your individual circumstances (age, health, fertility issues, how your body handles pregnancy, type of delivery) + what your doctor/MW says.
