1 day shy of 8 months! Way easier than I'd anticipated.

We want to go early, so we can visit my family after LO is born. So...is 8 weeks okay? I've been meaning to ask the Ped when it's okay to fly. I'd really like to do it while I'm on mat leave...

6 months, almost on the nose. International 6 hour flight, and then a few months later, a local less than 2 hour flight.

LO was just shy of 3 months. And the end of June she'll be taking her second flight at 7 months. I'm much more nervous about this one.

@Anagram: how long is the flight? LO flew at 6 weeks and she did wonderful, slept the whole time on the flight there and back! Our flight was only 2 hours though. I was nervous about germs/ears popping, but i wore her in a carrier and covered her with a thin muslin blanket, and she did not cry once so I imagine her ears didn't hurt her.
@MamaMoose: we are flying back home when LO is around 8 months and I am not looking forward to it either! she is so wiggly and isn't just content sitting in our laps anymore...she wants down to play! not sure how its gonna go...

11 months. Everything I've heard says it's easier to fly when they're younger. It was not fun entertaining her the whole trip!

First and only time was 6.5 months to Florida (3 hour flight) and it was just the right amount of time without losing my mind.

It's looking like we will probably take this LO to CA for Christmas when he or she will be around 5 months old. This is sort of terrifying to me but everything I read says that will be easier than the next year, at 17 months.
I think I was thinking about this as I fell asleep last night-- I had a nightmare about my flights getting cancelled and rescheduled and being on connections going back and forth across the country multiple times. I can't remember where I was going, but the point when I woke up they were trying to route me from New Mexico to NY to get somewhere on the west coast. Sheesh.

5 months - we did an around the world journey. Australia - England (via Singapore) - Chicago - and back to Australia (via LA). We've flown several shorter, four hour trips since then as well (she's 11.5 months) with no issues.

We just took our very first plane ride! (to your neck of the woods too.. we flew into O'Hare.) Wagon Jr. was 3.5 years (poor guy, we never traveled with him!) and LMW was 10 months. They both did great!! Don't know how they would have been on a longer flight but they both passed out right after takeoff for both flights. LMW only slept 30-45 min on each flight (she doesn't do well with naps anywhere but her crib) but Wagon Jr. slept an hour the way there and more than an hour on the way back!
The toughest part was getting through security (so many pieces and people to search) and waiting at the gate. And waiting to deplane was a bit tough but ok since everyone around you is usually cooing at your kids
I referred to Flying with Kids on Hellobee SO MUCH before our trip!!!

8 months. We did 8.5 hours from London to Philadelphia, a 4 hour layover and then a 2.5 hour flight from Philadelphia to St Louis. (Thats not even taking into account the 3 hours it took to get to Heathrow and the hour is took to get from the airport to my parents house.)
It wasn't too bad. Our flight left at noon, so she was pretty much awake for all of the long flight. She was pretty calm though, thankfully. She slept in the airport and then slept through all of the shorter flight.
On the way back to the UK, our flight left Philadelphia at like 7pm and she slept the entire way.

Next week will be her first time flying and she's almost 14 months. Luckily it's a short flight and we are leaving around her bedtime. I'm still nervous, especially about the return flight.

We haven't flown yet, but it will right at her 6 month mark! (and then again at 7 months). Excited/nervous to see how it goes

Planning our first trip from Chicago to New Jersey (where DH's family lives) in August. LO will be 7.5 months. I'm glad it's only a 2 hour flight! Hoping to take a REAL family vacation when she turns 1...not sure where yet but possibly international (if I'm brave enough to take her)!

4 months - I brought goodie bags with earplugs and chocolate to buy off everyone around us, but she was perfect.

@rattles: haha, yeah on SW I handed out free drink coupons to the people next to us, but she was good.

8 months for a 2.5 hour flight. He did really well on the way home when we had his lovey with him to signal sleep. Surprisingly, he was a good traveler in the airport. Also, TSA agents love babies. They'll be nicer to you than most other travelers.

8 months. She has also flows a number of times since then. The hardest part is that she has no interest in being a lap baby (or sitting still at all for that matter) on the plane.
For $$ reasons, I'm dreading when she turns 2, and we have to start buying another seat for all of our flights!

2.5 months, 4 months, 10 months, 15 months, 18 months!
Dang my girl's flown a lot!! Was easier when she was younger for sure!
