Or how old were they when you first took them out?
M will be 16 months at Halloween this year. I'll send her to daycare in whatever costume we decide on but we won't take her trick-or-treating.

DS didn't go last year, this year we will probably just take him to our neighbors' houses. He will be 20 months. DD went last year, at two and a half, and enjoyed it! So when DS is that old we will take him a little further.

he'll be 2 days shy of 18 months...DH may take him to a couple houses around here, and me and #2 will stay home handing out candy, but not sure yet. he's still so young. he doesn't go to daycare, and would have no need really for a halloween costume, so it's like do we get him one, or not?

Lorelei will be 19 months and she will go for sure. I'm pretty sure that we wouldn't be able to get away with just taking Ellie this time. Last year she went, but didn't actually do anything, other than hang out in the wrap and take in the interesting sights. I was just prompted to ask her what she wanted to be and her response was, "dead mouse, basement." No lie. She wants to be a dead mouse for Halloween. Ellie is going to be an artist.

This is a hypothetical for me, but id say around 2 or 3, when they're old enough to ask about it and understand it and feel left out if they dont participate. Of course I hate Halloween so I'd be fine if they never asked or had to take them out

She'll be one this Halloween. If she's walking okay we'll just trick or treat in my parents house. There's a ton of us so shell get to knock on doors to different rooms to get treats. She's not really going to be eating candy so we'll do toys and/or fruit.

LO was 17 months, she freaking loved it. We went with a group of neighbors, one who had a LO close to her age. She was very good at walking up and saying trick or treat and holding out her bag. She loved seeing all the other kids out and about and their costumes. I'm kinda sad I might be missing out this year because I might be having a baby during trick or treat because it was so much taking her around.
She got potty trained pretty quickly after that with all the treats she got from trick or treating, she loved going into her pumpkin while on the potty.

We took her when she was almost 6 months. only to the people in our neighborhood we knew, just so we could show her off.

LO was 18 months last year, and we took him to go door to door down our street. He loved that you could go to the door, and someone would come out with a treat. We also enjoyed watching trick-or-treaters come to our door. Being the good parents that we are, he had no clue he had candy in his basket, and we ate it slowly for the next couple weeks.

He was 4 months old We went with another family with a kid the same age. Dressed in a group costume and wanted to show off the babies. Went to maybe 7 houses in our neighborhood.

@Mrs. Twine: Hahaha!
DD was 16 months and she had such a blast! DS was 7 months last year, but he pretty much just hung out in the strollet.

We took DS when he was 6 months old just to a block party though. This year he will be 18 months and we wil take him again.

We didnt really go last year but we're going this year, she'll be almost 19 months.

He has gone the last two years so he was 7 months old the first time and he was 19 months old last year. Mostly because all of his (our) friends are older so we went with them. He didn't say trick-or-treat but hopefully this year.

Likely 2 months shy of three unless we take her next year, but I doubt we will!

He was 2. He's an August baby, so at 14 months I took him to a church function dressed up. At 2 I took him around my parents neighborhood.
He's been doing it every year ever since.

So tempted to take LO this year, just so I can enjoy all the candy. But at under 3 months old, I don't think my plan will work out so well, haha.

He'll be 14 months but I think we'll wait til next year. So 27 months

@redsmarties: i took my baby at 2 months old with friends and their lo. it was a local shopping center where you could trick or treat from store to store. you bet i collected candy too, no shame!

We took DD at age 14 months to a church fall festival event on Halloween night and then in the neighborhood the next year (fail). DS went with us down the street at age 13 months and did great. We pushed him in the push buggy and he held out his bag for candy (but didn't get to have any haha).

She will be 8 months. We will dress her up and ride along for trick or treating with big brother.

@MediaNaranja: Me too! LO is almost 3, and he has never had a costume (gasp!). They do a non-Halloween party on Halloween at preschool, and we didn't get any trick-or-treaters last year, so I just skipped it. I'm planning to do the same this year.
However, I do have fond memories of making my own costumes (I was usually a character from a book...), so maybe once he's older I will cave and have a party. I do hope to skip trick-or-treating altogether. That part just isn't my cup of tea.
