I was never worried about them, but now I am!

Hnm... So few details! I dunno, I'm not really concerned with plastic bags. My LO is only 9 months so I never leave her unattended unless she's in her crib napping and nothing is in her crib.

I let her play with plastic bags of all kinds because she loves the crinkle. But I'm always right there.

It's hard for me to imagine how a 6 month old could choke on a plastic bag because I just wonder how they got it and where the parents were, etc etc because 6 month olds aren't super mobile.

Anyway, I'm still not overly concerned about them. I have them in all my trash cans in the house, and the top shelf in the pantry.

Not that worried. I keep them up in a cupboard and I always throw away plastic bags from packaging right away.

My LO loooooooves plastic bags. So I am very careful to keep them all out of reach.

@Anagram: This is my imagination getting the better of me, but my LO would love to chew on plastic. I could imagine her getting a piece off - she had teeth and could crawl at 6 mo - and choking on it.

Nope. I tie plastic bags in a knot and keep them in a cabinet until I need to use them

I'm not. They are put away in the pantry right away.

@googly-eyes: that's what I mean--- I mean at 9 months, my LO is crawling but she's never out of my sight line. And at 6 months she was rolling all over but I never just left her alone in a room unless she was in her crib or exersaucer while I went to the bathroom or something.

I'm much more worried about small objects LO is starting to find on the floor that I don't even know are there.
Plastic bags at least crinkle and alert you that they are being touched, unlike the sewing needle that is somehow in the crack of the baseboard or the small plastic cap from a water bottle that's rolled off the kitchen counter. Now THAT stuff I'm hyper vigilant about.

Not worried, we put them out of reach.

Not too worried, we throw them out or they're put away out of ds' reach.

I probably don't worry enough... after hearing that story just last night I was cutting the corner off a bag of frozen fruit and I thought how easily that little bit could fall to the ground and find its way into some curious babe's mouth Fortunately my kids seem past the age of just putting whatever into their mouths. I do worry about my dry-cleaning bags and whether someone might think it's a good idea to get in there with the clothes sometime. Should probably just always recycle them immediately...
