I just got my first root canal done a little while ago. I'm still a little numb so I can't really tell how it feels yet. If you've had one done before, how sore were you afterwards?

Hardly at all! I didn't need to take anything. And I've had two.

@Purpledaisy: You had your root canal done today? or a while ago?
I think I was sore for at least a day... maybe two days. I was given so 600 mg ibuprofen and they seemed to help with the pain.

@Purpledaisy: Oh, good. Yeah, it's been a while since I had a root canal, but I hope your soreness goes away soon.

@Purpledaisy: I had one done a few years ago. It was surprisingly not as painful after as I expected. I didn't even take the Vicodin they gave me.

I wasn't sore at all. The next morning, I did three loads of laundry, graded a bunch of papers, and loaded/unloaded some dishes all before work. I was clearly feeling better.

Hardly at all, and I've had 4 :(. The two I had while breastfeeding I was a bit sore because I opted out of pain meds but it really wasn't too bad, and I felt pretty normal the next day.

I really didn't notice much difference between my root canal and getting a usual filling. It was just annoying that it had to be done in so many appointments but it wasn't any more painful.
