My SIL is 39.5 weeks pregnant and I really haven't checked up on her because I don't want to be annoying...I remember being irritated by "is the baby here" yet text messages late in my pregnancy.
How do you check up on close family and friends who are going to have a baby soon?

Maybe a "I just wanted to tell you I love you/am wishing you good luck" sort of text (if you get along well)? Or make a joke out of it "I know I hated all of the "checking in" texts but wanted to make sure that all was okay for you."

I go with "Hey girl, just wanted to see how you're feeling! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help" ? Or @MaisyMay: had a good idea with making a joke about hating getting those texts!

@MaisyMay: @MrsTiz: OMG, I feel so bad. I texted this morning after your suggestions and she just responded that she has been at the hospital the last few days because her Grandma had a massive stroke. 
I wish I checked on her earlier.

Ask her out or if you can swing by to do someting nice for her like pre,wash baby clothes
