Since neither blankets nor bumpers are considered safe for small infants any more, how do you decorate a nursery? We'll do blue or green black-out curtains. We have our furniture. We live in a rental, so painting is a no-go... We do plan on getting a rug.
I'd really like to decorate the nursery - I just don't know how!

were doing a big wall decal and decorating with knick knacks and a bunch of of pictures. Also doing some DIY like a mobile and painting some baskets/picture frames. pintrest is awesome to get inspiration from

Kind of thinking Swiss Family Robinson/Treasure Island type theme - island with ship elements. Between the furniture, windows and built-in book shelves, there's not much wall space either - just above the crib and one small stretch of wall where I'll probably put up a map of the Americas...

Use lots of bright colors - it helps make a white-walled nursery very fun, as well as provide lots of visual intrigue for a baby

I am full of them! totally in the same boat as you I am almost done with Cobi's nursery and will post pics when I'm done. His room is being done in bright green, navy blue and sunny yellow

@cyneswith: not sure if you have a christmas tree store where u live but they have a huge selection of ship/nautical themed stuff to put in a room like pillows, stools etc..it was really cute stuff that might work for your theme maybe?!?

you could use a blanket/quilt like a giant piece of wall art ^_^. Assuming you're allowed to put holes in the walls.

We live in a rental too, but I painted an alphabet on the wall over the crib. I hung up the quilt using a rid and ring clips and we also painted a few canvases of sleeping animals.
