We tried implementing a dream feed for the first time last night and had mixed results. On the plus side, DS slept a pretty good amount of time afterwards. But on the down side, we had trouble getting him to take the bottle and then he ended up waking up somewhat. I was able to get him to settle back down after a little while and without nursing or feeding again, so that was good.
DS is not picky about bottles/nursing, so we used a cold bottle of formula from the fridge. I was thinking it would be less disturbing than picking him up to nurse. But now I'm wondering if maybe we should've heated it up? Although we've never done that before. FYI DS is 5.5 weeks.
Any tips for how to do a successful dreamfeed without waking the baby?
