B has been up since 10am! Thats 7 hours! He's only 5 weeks old and never been up this long before.
Ive checked all the usual suspects:diaper, hes fed, etc. He will fall asleep on me but the second I put him down he will wake up.
Any clue why???
Any tricks to transferring him so he doesnt wake. Tried rnp, pnp and crib?

looks like you're in for a spell of babywearing. do you have a sling or carrier you could pop him in? Otherwise you'll just have to hold him.

LO did this at 5 weeks old too and she was up 11 hours straight!! I tried everything, nothing worked lol

@travelingbrit: I can once he fall asleep. If I try while he's awake he gets mad--he likes to move around.

A is exactly the same, she hated the stroller too. We just bought an ergo and it's magic! To be fair she will go down on a night now in her crib, swaddled, after a few tries, but still refuses to be put down for naps. I honestly just find it easier to hold her.

At that point my LO was exactly the same... I did a lot of catching up on TV while holding her while she slept.

Sounds like it's just going to be one of those days. I would walk around to get him to fall asleep in the carrier and then I could sit down. As long as he was still against me he would stay asleep.

can he fall asleep in the car? my lo loves the car and passes out. ive used it as a last resort thing twice now to get him to sleep.

I think someone held LO for 90% of her naps through week 8. And a good amount of them beyond that. Baby wearing is a lifesaver!

My DD slept in her swing a lot at that stage. Try to borrow one if you can, not all babies like it. It's a good idea to shut the swing off once your LO is sleeping so s/he doesn't get used to being in motion to sleep.

Sometimes you just have to let them sleep on you! The nice thing with babies is that they're always changing so days like you're having are usually only temporary

5 weeks is a fussy time. Around this time we re-watched the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and started using the 5 S's religiously. I highly recommend that strategy.

I'd get a good pizza delivered and plop down with a long book. Or take a long walk? Whatever.
