We are currently vacationing with our two girls. It's a fair amount of work. I'm not complaining, but I would love your tips on making it more relaxing. I have read Mrs. Bee's Philipines posts already. Signed, busy mama.

My tip...... vacation with your parents. Built in babysitters!

@Honeybee: duly noted!!! That can be arranged. I think next year will be so much easier, but the birthday girl is just barely walking and keeping us on our toes!

We haven't taken a real vacation since DS was born, just trips to visit family. Byt last summer we spent a lot of fun at the beach. DS would nap in the beach tent which meant we could stay out all the way through lunch. Do you think M might nap in the Ergo so you can stay out? We also have a tendency to pick up take out because taking both kids to a restaurant is stressful.

@Honeybee: she's napping in the ergo on the beach right now
I should say that this is the most relaxing moment so far!

I have yet to figure this one out. We are taking our crew cross country in the end of march and I am excited and terrified at the same time.

@Mrs. Train: you can do this because you are incredible! I always cite you as a mama hero!

@Mrs. Jacks: haha thanks. I mostly worry about planes. I feel for anyone who has to sit near us!

Can you vacation with your nanny? I often go on trips with neighbors in my neighborhood justto babysit!

@anonysquire: I wish that was an option. It would be super pricey!

@Mrs. Jacks: Ah that looks amazing! Meanwhile we got another foot of snow and H has been fighting his nap for the past 1.5 hours.
Pick up some wine tonight for after the kids go to bed?

@anonysquire: @Mrs. Jacks: Similar thought process, but I used to babysit for vacationing families in my hometown. Sometimes even when the parents were there, just so they could nap. Could you find someone to watch the girls for an afternoon or evening out?

Stay outdoors as much as possible! Messes don't bother you there. And let yourself do something alone -- shop or grab a coffee solo.

On our last vacation, we hired a sitter for a few hours so we could golf. My kids love the beach and playing in the sand. So we just took turns watching them while the other relaxed on the beach chair. Have fun!
