When LO had her naming (a Jewish ceremony to give her a Hebrew name) I was so busy trying to keep her calm and keep her from screaming that I didn't have time to cry myself.

i've heard touching your tongue to the roof of your mouth helps you not cry because you're concentrating on something else.

It's okay to cry! But bring tissues so you can catch the tears before you get makeup all over the place.
