Awn-joe-lee. But it took me rereading it multiple times

Same as first response and also after reading it/saying it a few times.

@travellingbee: @Boopers: @LAZB: @snowjewelz: Correct! I'm actually shocked lol I'm horrible pronunciation so I thought this would be a bit tricky. My kids have SUPER easy names but I kinda like the uniqueness of this name.

@bubblegum: I would pronounce it the same as above. However? I think SPELLING it would be the hard part. She would forever have to spell it out letter by letter, which would be a deal breaker for me.

@bubblegum: If you're thinking about this as a possible name, Anjali may be a more intuitive spelling?

@bubblegum: My daughter had a teacher named Anjali. I think that’s the traditional Indian spelling. I think it’s so beautiful.

@Beehive: @My Only Sunshine: I had a good Indian-American friend in HS named Anjuli (ahn-ju-lee) and just about everyone called her Julie. I thought it was such a pretty name.

@Beehive: @My Only Sunshine: ahhhh I like that spelling more!
@lamariniere: it’s sucha beautiful name! I heard it today for the first time and was in love.

@lamariniere: yeah, the two women I've known with this name spelled it Anjuli, which is not Stephanie- or Jennifer-easy but it is really unitive to pronounce when you see it, and it rolls off the tongue to say it. Lovely name. Although I think it's criminal to shorten it to Julie!

@bubblegum: fyi unless I'm mistaken the Indian pronunciation is AHN-ju-lee, emphasis on the first syllable

Just chiming in here to say that the Indian name 'Anjali' is actually pronounced UHN-juh-lee, not AHN-juh-lee, so the first syllable rhymes with 'sun' (same with Anjana being pronounced UHN-juh-nah, etc.). Agree that it's a lovely name!

I’d pronounce like Traveling Bee, but see that would be wrong @hony bologna:
Kinda related Rihanna says her name totally different than the way Americans say it adding more pizzazz to the Anna part.

@LCTBQE: @hony bologna: @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: so interesting! The girl in the video pronounced it on-joe-lee. Maybe that’s why the spelling is different? Either way it a very beautiful name

I have 2 Indian American friends named Anjali and they both pronounce it AHN-juh-lee... I'm guessing they just gave in to the Americanized pronunciation. Pretty name either way!

@hony bologna: oh I’m glad to know this! I guess the women I knew had just allowed people to American-ize/butcher the pronunciation.
