I'm currently in the process of changing careers and getting into teaching. Hopefully I will be hired and start teaching for the 2016-2017 school year!
The career I'm coming from is straight 8-5, in the office every day M-F, and then no work expected for the most part on nights/weekends, although I do keep an eye on my email and respond to anything I can. I know that will be very different once I get into teaching, but I'm okay with the change. I'm happy to do extra work whenever necessary and know my schedule will be very different once I get into teaching.
If you are a teacher, how's your work/life balance? Any advice for structuring my time as a new teacher?
and many frown upon those who don't arrive at 730am and stay until 5pm but I just don't care what they think. I want to get to my child and my family ASAP! Thankfully there are more and more young people coming into the profession who also feel the same and aren't interested in spending heaps of extra time at school.
