    So far so good after the second surgery, still in icu but vital are good. They put in a temporary colostomy bag since the infection was caused by bowel leakage into his abdomen so he will have a third surgery when he gets home.

    I brought my boys home yesterday, 8 hrs of travel time alone with a 3 year old and 10 month old is no joke.

    Good news! The travel insurance assigned a doctor to review our case when I told them I was concerned about his quality of care and he is currently getting medically evacuated to Fort Lauderdale. I got to tell him before he heard from anyone else and their was such relief and hope in his voice, it's lifted his spirits. Can't wait to hear from him.

    Update, husband is still in the hospital in Fort Lauderdale, his incision from his bowel resections is still infected so he is hooked up to a wound vac at least until Monday. He is, however, back to eating normal food, albeit in very small portions. While I can't wait to have him home, I'll not only be caring for my boys but him as well, trying to mentally prepare myself for that.

    @snowjewelz: we are okay, getting into a decent routine with my little boys, my husband is still in Florida with no release date in sight. The two surgeries and infection have taken quite a toll on his body so he isnt healing well. At this point he is still on the wound vac with an abdominal binder as well now. It is so hard not being with him but Ia m trying to keep my, his and our three year old's spirits up.

    @Mrsbells: Thank you!

    Visiting ny husband this weekend, which has been awesome. Trying to keep his spirits up. He will down here another 2-3 weeks, he will be having a big surgery in just over a week to correct all the problems from the surgeries in the Dominican Republic, the surgeon then expects 7-10 days for recovery until he can fly home. Prayers he is home for Christmas.
