I was sooo good at Excel. Now with the latest versions, I can barely get anything done at all!
Microsoft, you broke my heart!!
Ok I feel slightly better now.

@runsyellowlites: I mean Microsoft 2007... it's been 6 years and I'm still grieving!

I hate the 2007 version! I feel like it's so dumbed down, and you would think it would make it easier. But in the beginning i wanted to rip my hair out because i couldn't figure out where all the functions were. I totally feel your pain.

Oh, I sympathise. It seems the older I get, the harder I find change - and that ribbon thing throws me completely, to this day!!

Haha, I actually love the new Excel. It took a looot of time to get familiar with it, but I think it's much more efficient this way

Yes! I hate it too. Takes me much longer to get stuff at work.

@mrbee: I still use an old version of Excel. I've got an old computer at work with old programs on it - but I've had to use other peoples computers that have 2007, and I can't find ANYTHING on the new version! I'll be lost when they finally upgrade me!

@JennyLayneAZ: So smart!
I have thousands of hours logged on the old version... I've slowly learned the new version, but don't have all the keyboard shortcuts down yet!

Just the opposite. I only learned MS 2007. When I was in undergrad I had lots of people helping me with the computer stuff. When I went back for my MBA I had to do all my work myself and by then it was MS 2007. I even taught seniors how to use it. Most of the old ladies needing to learn for Church book keeping and other activities.

I think at work we are using an older version but I like all the versions. I think I prefer the new ones actually

shortcuts from the old version still work on the new version - you just have to get used to the ribbon at the top of the screen

@babycanuck: In my experience, the keyboard shortcuts don't always work as is. I often have to make minor adjustments to them to get them to work.

@mrbee: really? The keyboard shortcuts should all be the same... Can you give me an example?
I do feel your pain though. I am an Excel ninja on PC but I just installed it on my Mac and I'm a little lost!
