Seriously! My MW doesn't do standard early dating u/s (just to minimize exposure risks) so I don't get an "official" due date! *gasp* I know that my lmp says 2/26, but my O symptoms (and timing of my :bfp:) say 3/5 so we're just going with the 3/5 & setting up for early March!
I feel so invigorated by not having a "time stamp" on my uterus! lol! I can't wait till people ask when I'm due & I get to tell them "I don't know..." I'm sure I'll get some off the wall looks! Bah!

haha i don't either... my 'due date' fluctuated so much during the first half of pregnancy (the earliest date i got was aug 29) and the latest date i got was sept 14, so i'm just gonna make sure i'm ready by the beginning of aug and take it a day at a time! 
thankfully it's my second, so i'm not really in a hurry to have him out... i want to enjoy my summer!

@tysonja: That's awesome! I've always been one to go for the later date so I have as much time as needed to not have to worry about intervention. Last time I had a 4/1 lmp edd but 4/3 u/s date... You better believe as things got close I claimed the 4/3 date! lol

@runsyellowlites: haha good for you! i have a feeling this bub might come closer to the earlier date, but we'll see! i can't decide what i would prefer (pros and cons for both), but really, who am i kidding, the boy will come whenever HE is ready. haha... i have little to no choice

They finally settled on an August 10th dd for me (which lined up with my OPK date), but the range from early appointment to early appointment was from August 1-14th.
I never told anyone IRL when I was "due". I just said "Sometime in August" and when pressed said "When they're ready". I didn't want to be tied to a date, especially since I was born 18 days overdue.
So anyway, yay for you! I assume you'll eventually get an U/S, are you going to "get dated" then? Is that something you can defer knowing?

It's great that you find it so freeing though! I can definitely see it from that point of view too!

@FutureMrsMcK: I'll have the anatomy scan to of course check placenta placement (given there are no signs to check earlier) and monitor baby's growth (possible gender), but any u/s after the first trimester aren't accurate for dating so we wouldn't take a date then. I really love it! I love not being pushed to have the baby just b/c I'm huge fate & pregnant! lol

Haha i think that is so liberating! DH & I already decided we are going to tell everyone my due date is 2 weeks after when it really is lol I was so tired of hearing "is the baby here yet?" after being 11 days late

@runsyellowlites: I had a due date and I got so sick of explaining to everyone that the baby isn't necessarily going to come exactly on the due date! Ugh. He could be early, he could be late .... people (educated grown ups even!) just didn't get it!

@cmomma17: I always said mid-December, and people would always ask for the exact date (which was dec 18 - so pretty much mid-December). It was annoying!

@runsyellowlites: Yep, I HAD a due date with Deere Boy and then found out when I was 2 weeks "late" that he wasn't due for another 6ish weeks anyhow. And then I just went with, "Labor will come when it comes!" It was really freeing. Although, I did go for a dating scan this time because I had NO idea when I ovulated and there was a pretty huge range of time when it could have happened. But I just tell people that I'm sue sometime the end of November and I find myself thinking that way too, I rarely think about my actual EDD.

Lol like the idea of a broader due 'dates' - it's silly that they have to nail it down to 1 day IMO. Where I am I will only get one anatomy u/s at 20 weeks unless there are issues so I'm sure my due date will be from LMP.

@runsyellowlites: that's pretty cool. I think OBs/MWs should just give a range instead of a date. by my LMP my "due date" was 12/7 but by my dating ultrasound it was 12/15 and that's the date that was used for my pregnancy.
for the last month I was closely monitored for pre-e and on very strict bedrest but had things progressed without complication, I wouldn't have wanted to talk about anyone being "due" until after Christmas.

I do have an EDD (11/22), but I still tell people I'm due in November or around Thanksgiving. I still like knowing my EDD for myself, but I don't think other people, especially strangers, need to know the specifics Go you!

That would probably drive me crazy at firs because I like to know things, but I guess it could be nice too since it's not specific you won't have an expectation for any particular day. I plan on telling people "mid such and such month, or the beginning of this month" That way people will hopefully not bug so much when it gets closer, as if we can pull the babies out on our own or something

That's awesome. I tell people my month (Jan), but not a date. They act confused, but I don't want everyone hounding me if I go over. I fully support your MW!!

I had probably the most regular cycle ever the month I got pregnant, so my due date based on LMP and O were exactly 1 day apart, so pretty much no question there. My MW doesn't do a dating ultrasound unless it's really unclear. So my official due date is July 30 but I've just been telling people 'end of July or probably early August'. As it's now mid July, people usually press more for an actual date, which I don't mind giving, but ask me again on Aug. 1.
Still for my own peace of mind I think it would drive me crazy to not have a date, even though I really do think of it in terms of 'July 23-Aug 6 or so'.

I always gave people an estimate because even the due date given by the doctor is just an estimate anyway

My due date has fluctuated a lot this pregnancy. The due date I tell people is the one that FF tells me and what I figure to be correct. I was there, I know when I got KU. My doctor originally went by LMP and then changed it later on in pregnancy. Then when I saw an OB, she changed it again.

I totally get how you feel! My first lo didn't get an ultrasound until about 7 months in and I didn't know when my last period was so my "due date" was sometime between November 25th to December 5th or something like that. I thought it was awesome having a general idea but not an actual day to anticipate.

I love that! I feel like there really is a four week window when baby will probably come - 38-42 weeks. I kinda find it annoying when people ask my due date. It's not like babe is going to come on that day (most likely)! I always just answer with "august".
