Chloe has her first cold and is super miserable. She's walking around the house whining and saying "my daddy? Where my daddy?" and looking for papa jumper. She wants daddy home so badly, and he can't get out of work.
I feel so bad!! How does your LO tolerate a cold?

She has had two in her first year, and she handled them like a champ . . . except for the snot sucking. 
That would be so heartbreaking to hear! My LO says *mama mama mama* sometimes when she is crying and it breaks me every time!

C has her first cold too and it's so sad to hear her so snotty and coughing. She's only 8 weeks so has no idea really, but she does hate the snot sucker. Luckily she seems to e getting better already.

Aww! DS woke up with a cold too and is just super whiny, stubborn, etc. We have had lots of tears so far today because he can't get what he wants (usually things like walking into the street and such)
I hope she feels better soon and that you can get through the day without Papa Jumper!

Oh no Try distracting her with a special treat (movie, snack she doesn't get very often, ect.) with extra cuddles from you.

A treat of some sort helps (ie. a new book, a new (small) toy, a fun snack, etc.)...
When DD is really sick she gets tired of seeing me all the time and always cries for daddy. It makes me so sad, too!

I made her chicken soup for lunch & that made her happy, too. I feel so bad, though. I caught her cold & took some cold medicine. I can't give her anything

She has her first cold at an age where she is talking/ linking 3 words together? Lucky you! I think we'll be having our 50th cold by the time LO can do that 
For us we just hang out.... So far there are two types of illness he could have and both are not so bad (knock on wood!): One is business as usual, he plays like he is all OK even with a fever. Another type is he'd feel so bad he just lay there and wants to sleep. For the first one obviously I'll just let him play quietly, the 2nd type I may hold him in my arms or put him down for a bit and let him nap whenever he wants. I'd take his temperature from time to time and adminster medication if necessary....
I usually put the vicks rub cream on his chest before bedtime so he can breathe better and hopefully help with coughs if any. I always had fond memories of those vicks rub cream when I was a kid (my mom put it on me before bedtime when I were sick, and I always felt so warm and loved), so I want to continue the tradition for my LO

I'm with @irene: I'm amazed she's just NOW having her first cold!! Poor girl! Xander's had like 10 already and he's only 7 months!
Sick days call for pjs, hot soup, cocoa, and snuggles (depending on age)! I hope she feels better soon!!!

We've had lots of colds/sinus infections. We have had 3 times of the Croup. That is not fun... spent 2 nights in the hospital because of it. It is really hard to go through and E is so tough. He really doesn't show that he's not feeling well. You just know from the fever and snot! HOpe your LO feels better soon!

aww poor girl! O has a cold right now too. I've been giving her tylenol when she seems to really need it (the first week was bad, fever/body aches) but she's doing better now.
I have been sick also, but can't take anything because I'm nursing it's the pits.

Ha. She just lives like it's any other day. She's had so many colds in her short life, it's not even funny. I think she's immune to the fact that she's sick now. Poor little C.

Aww. So sad and sweet at the same time.
Both LO's got their first cold early on we all have one right now - but DD is not tolerating it at all. She woke up every hour last night and has been yelling all morning!

Chloe woke up crying at 6:30 this morning & was really warm. I took her temp & it was 101.9. I gave her some medicine but it wore off & her fever came back around 1.
She JUST laid down for a nap. How did she stay awake so long?!

Awww poor baby I'm surprised she's made it this far without a cold. It seems like my baby is always sick with a cold from daycare. I feel almost numb to it now.

@BabyBoecksMom: I SAH with Chloe, and we put her in preschool earlier this month. I've had plenty of colds but she never caught it.
She did have a stomach bug earlier this month, but this is her first cold!
