My DH is horrible at this too. Like he sets aside the money or whatever and never pays it. And then I go and pay it and find out he hadn't paid for like 3 months. So ya I took over and now we never miss payments. Shocker!

I pay them...DH is also forgetful. He only has to pay the cellphone bill and it's always late! But I also despise going through the bills and paying each one. Even if we were wealthy, I'd still hate it!

My husband pays the bills. We set everything up together though. When we met, he was really bad at handling money. He's come a long way since then. It makes him feel good that I trust him to handle everything now.

I had to take it over too when our cable got cut off. DH didn't realize the bill increased and he never changed the standard monthly payment amount. He thought it was funny, me not so much!!!

Most of ours are auto paid, so they just get taken out of the checking account without me having to go anything. I'm pretty forgetful, so this works better for us. It's still depressing to see the balance in the account before & then after all those get taken out

I pay all the bills. I work at the bank where our accounts are held so it just makes sense. I'm a weirdo and actually like paying the bills. It gives me a nice sense of satisfaction when they are all paid off.

DH has had a system going for a long time. I've recently gotten familiar with it in case something happens. Bill paying isn't as straight forward here. It's all online but it requires a little calculator-like doodad that spits out codes needed to confirm all transactions. It's a long step-by-step process. I had to make detailed notes!

hubby pays them, he is really responsible and remembers when they are all due luckily!

We have *everything* on auto pay so that we never have to remember to pay any bills.

We set up auto pay for our bills....otherwise it's just a hassle to pay them ALL on time every month!

I pay all the household bills and my bill. DH pays his bills. It only worked out that way because I earn more so I took on the household payments, he's good about paying on time so it's not like I don't think he could do it. Now that we're finally combining accounts, it's just easier to keep paying everything myself since all the bills/emails come to me.

@Coco Bee: Ah, our car insurance gets taken right out of our paycheck at work. Can you set up rent and auto to be auto pay through the bank to send a check the 1st of every month?

@PurplePumps: This is what we do for some of our bills (mostly hospital bills from the birth of LO). Its the same amount each month so they are on the bill pay schedule and it goes out automatically.
