All I was doing was heating up milk this morning and had it boil over all over the stove. -_-

No one else has messed up their cooking lately? I'm impressed.

@swedishfish: I burned part of D's bacon this morning (I bake it, and the toaster oven was set too high and I didn't realize it). Still edible, though.
And over the weekend I completely failed at making marshmallow fondant for my niece's birthday cake. I made 3 batches in different colors and the second two came out perfect but the first was like dried out, crumbly play dough, no matter what I did. A problem, since it was to be used to cover a box, not decorations like the other two colors. I ended up having to throw it out and made royal icing instead. Side note: I did learn how to pasteurize eggs.

Not too recent, but my last 2 batches of cinnamon rolls have come out sucky! I don't know what I'm doing wrong!

QUINOA! TWICE!!! Tonight!
Hahah, That is so weird. I left it for too long because I got distracted. Trashed it and made a second batch and burned that one too. Not my day.

I ruined a dozen boiled eggs last weekend....I was meal prepping for the week and totally forgot about them while doing laundry. I boiled them for over 45 mins

I've definitely burned quinoa before.
Last week I was steaming veggies and without me realizing it all the water evaporated and I burnt the pot. What is easier than steaming veggies?

@JennyD: I like popcorn a little burnt! Of course it makes the microwave smell like all heck.

@CupQuakeWalk: this was beyond burnt! It was like, cremated!!! Almost set off the smoke detector! It was like -20 (C) and we opened the door!
Also, you might be a little nutty.

A foolproof quinoa option that we've instituted as the standard in our home after DH had a chronic burnage problem -
Instead of the typical pressure cooking simmering rice way, we just put the water and quinoa together, bring it to a boil x 5min, then turn off the burner completely, cover it and let it sit x 15min or so. You'd have to forget you were cooking within the first 5min and leave the house for an hour to burn it.
That said, I often burn butter or garlic because I get distracted while sauteeing and our stovetop doesn't have very subtle temperature control. Did it tonight, in fact.

@ALV91711: oh.... I did that once too, except I was making mass amounts of baby food, and I just kept taking the veggies out as they were done, and not filling the pot underneath. Oops.
