We both won!
Even though lo has only been home from the NICU for 2 weeks, I let DH go to Vegas for the night to watch his college basketball team. I was really nice about it, didn't make him feel guilty or anything.
Apparently I created some good karma. He actually won money and came back with the Louis Vuitton purse I've been wanting for ever (but would never buy). : )

Awesome husband! And good for you for being such a good sport about the Vegas trip. I think even if my DH won $10,000 in vegas, buying me a nice LV purse wouldn't even cross his mind. He just doesn't get spending a lot on shoes or bags.

@Anagram: I won't say he "gets it" but with the amount he spends on golf clubs and the little I spend on things, he doesn't mind buying stuff every once in awhile.
Now he's excited that he has the next few holidays taken care of with purse accessories. He wouldn't let me get the wallet, but he wants to be able to get it later : ).
