Can you just put a note on the door, saying something to the effect of "Hey neighbor! Baby is sleeping, so please just come to the back without knocking or ringing the doorbell. Thanks so much!"

Oh girl! If I had a dollar for every stupid thing my husband has done in our 9 years together... I wouldn't be writing this from my office computer!

The thing that I (try to) keep in mind, is that he means well. For the most part, somewhere in his mind, the things he does not only make sense but are meant to benefit others. It's just that I often don't see it the same way.

I hope your LO doesn't wake up!

My husband invites our friends over thinking I would enjoy the company! Sometimes I just want to be left alone!

Ugh, I'd be annoyed. But this makes me so thankful that we don't have a dog!

@artbee- I really feel for you. This past weekend, my husband's family was coming over for dinner. So he wanted to clean. Our LO is also a horrible sleeper. But, he chose to start cleaning (a,k.a. moving things around, vacuuming, starting the dishwasher, etc) when she was sleeping. She immediately woke up. What.a.dweeb. I was so annoyed!

But, he was cleaning, so that's the good part. It's just that he was dumb and didn't consider the timing of it.

2 thoughts....1st You should be counting your blessings that you have such an awesome husband who loves you and realize that you probably do plenty of things that he would think was "stupid" too!! Besides, could imagine raising your baby without him??
2nd Why is the baby a terrible napper?? You need to look at the timing of her naps, when you're feeding her in relation to laying her down, nap time routine and her room environment.
Ps. Can you get rid of the dog??

Is her swing in her bedroom?

She must be your first baby? Do you have an audio/video monitor? Does she have her own room with a crib and a door you can close? Dont fear naptime....There's lots of ways you can help her become a better napper.

You should definitely get an audio/video monitor. Then you could move her swing into her bedroom and let her nap in there with the door closed. Also, buy a sound machine and choose a white noise sound. Darken her room with blackout shades. What's the worst that could happen? She might just sleep through the knock at the door!
Ps I've been there! I've tried it ALL! And when she outgrows that swing.......yikes, then what?!

I feel for you, but I don't think I would be mad at him for it. I'm sure it was an honest mistake.
