We decided a few weeks ago that I wasn't going to go back to work, and I finally bit the bullet and turned in my notice today.
I'm freaking out anxious and excited at the same time!
Any other sahms feel scared when you finally committed to it?

Yup, it's scary to make that decision! But I just remind myself that it's only permanent if I want it to be Congrats!

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! Well done! I felt guilty after a while which I know is crazy, as a SAHM IS a job ( it just doesn't bring in $$)... but nothing can compare to raising your child. Congrats!

Yay! I'm still working a 1-2 days per week, but I seriously can't wait to give my notice. Enjoy your time with that sweet babe!

@hilsy85: Exactly. I can always look for a job if I need to. I need to keep telling myself that!

Congrats. I know its nerve wrecking but after a little while you will adjust. I freaked out because I quit going into a summer when I thought we had a match (Iwas a teacher and it was a very risky move) and then the birth mother changed her mind. So I went three more months without a job and no baby. I was chomping at the bit and thought I had made a huge mistake. It was all worth it. I have loved the past 4.5 years as a SAHM.

I work part time and I freaked out over what to do for months. Congrats on your decision!

Congrats! I gave my notice on Friday. My husband got a one year fellowship cross country so it was a no brainer. I'm going to SAH for a year, at least. But, between you, me and the lamppost, I don't think I'll ever go back to work. Seems weird, because I'm still paying off my lawschool loans : ) I don't feel scared. I feel like I'm getting my life back.

@winniebee: I'm so excited for you! I'm still paying my student loans too. I don't think they ever end.

@Mrs. Polish: Ahh, I hate the anxiety that comes when you turn in your resignation. Congrats! More time with your baby! Yay! Was it as bad as you thought it was going to be?
My last resignation was just because I found another job, so it wasn't to be a SAHM. Did your boss understand?

@bluestriped bee: I truly had a one of a kind job. It was low stress (government paper pusher) and my boss is an amazing person. He completely understood and was sad that I won't be around. My anxiety comes from not having that job to fall back on. While I was on leave it was something I could do if staying home didn't work out.
It was really sad. I've never loved a job before. Thanks for asking
