I met a woman last week who said that she could see ghosts. Actually she didn't bring it up herself; her husband was the one who mostly told me all about it (although she didn't mind talking about it when it was brought up).

I asked a million questions, and here's what they said:

* Ghosts look like ordinary people, just kind of transparent-y.
* Ghosts don't look like they did in their last moments of life (i.e. I asked if they were shot with a gun, did they have a huge hole in their chest? She said, no.). They just look like they did when they were alive.
* If several people died in a house, sometimes she can see them when she visits. I asked if they hang out together and keep each other company, and she said she didn't know.
* You can't see ghosts in your primary field of vision. They are something you see out of your peripheral vision.
* One time she looked in a mirror, and she saw a ghost in the room. But when she looked at where the ghost was, she didn't see anything. The ghost only appeared in the mirror.
* When she was a child, she saw spirits all the time. Finally her mom took her to see a woman, who gave her an amulet that stopped her from seeing spirits. One day she lost the amulet though, and since then she's been seeing spirits again.
* Several times she has visited caves and gotten really sick afterward. She said that caves have a lot of spirits.

She also said that seeing spirits is a curse. She wishes she never saw them, and that she was "normal." She has to avoid certain places to not see ghosts, and it's very inconvenient.

I have to say, I am really skeptical of ghost stories but she was so reluctant to talk about all this and had so many specific details that I found myself wondering if she really does see spirits!
