@JoJoGirl: That's super helpful. Thank you! I just got my second beta and it more than doubled! I go in for an u/s on the 28th. Finally getting to feel excited.

@marionberry: I haven't really experienced cramps, so I'm the wrong person to ask. I get a little twinge maybe once a week (if that) but it's nothing like AF. I know a lot of other people do though.

@marionberry: Mine were FULL Flo! Like "woke me up in the middle of the night - eek, I've just come on" kind of sensation. It didn't help that I got loads of creamy CM, too, which made me feel kind of wet down there (TMI) and added to the panic! I felt like my cervix was opening, too - you know, that weird achy feeling you get when you O and when AF comes? I freaked out!! But she wasn't coming......it was all normal pregnancy related stuff.

Yeah, those conception indicator tests are great!! I tested every few days to watch the weeks go up from 1-2 to 2-3 and then to 3+. It's an expensive habit though!!!

@Cherrybee: YES with the CM. I may or may not have been constantly *checking* in my office and in my car to make sure it wasn't blood. I was freaking. out.

  5. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@cherrybee: @jojogirl: I'm definitely in that keep checking every time you pee stage. I also have a lot of CM so last night when I was getting strong cramps and felt wet my first urge was to the bathroom. Now that I have the good news on the betas and the cramping experience from you guys I feel SO much better!

@JoJoGirl: In your office?!! What if someone walked in?!!! Imagine!!!!! Gasp!

@marionberry: I'm replying to your question on your due date thread which I'm totally stalking but don't want to gatecrash!! Yes, I found it virtually impossible to concentrate at work and still do!! I've got a really bad attitude about work at the moment...... what with the tiredness and the nausea - not to mention the pelvic pain I've started getting - I really resent having to be there. I just want to sleep and research baby stuff!!!!!

  7. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Cherrybee: Yay! I'm not alone! Like DH says, I'm just so excited I don't really know what to do with myself. If work was really busy I'd be able to focus but since it's not and I'm bored all I can think about is baby. I really want to work from home Friday but I may need to get out of a meeting first...and that would give me an extra excuse to sleep too! So tired!!!

  8. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@Cherrybee: @marionberry: that's why I told work early. Exhaustion and nausea = very unproductive!

@JoJoGirl: Me too! With no windows. I could do anything in there and they'd have no clue...including sleep lol.

@chibee: Hey I just saw on the POAS board that you are taking a few months off? Is everything ok? I understand if you don't want to talk about it. We are here for you though if you do! xo

@chibee: @Mrs squirreld: I was gonna ask the same! If you need to chat, hit us up!

  13. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@chibee: I saw it too. Is it seeing all of the bfp's on the January POAS? That used to really piss me off sometimes. Or is the stress of it all just really wearing on your relationship? I totally recommend taking time off for personal sanity any time you feel you need to. Sometimes that's when people get pregnant too! Weren't you meeting with an OB soon? Big hugs girlie. We're here for you!

    nectarine / 2522 posts

@chibee: @marionberry: I totally agree with you there.. it is hard to see all the BFP's and trust me after my stupid 61 day cycle and other ladies issues on here, KNOW that it WILL happen for you. Time off is great! ( we had basically given up towards the end of my cycle and were just going with the flow) Just know that we are all here for you if you needs us.... hugs & enjoy your time off.

@mrssquirreld @marionberry @runnerd i was gonna post here but forgot! No, definitely not bc of all the BFPs here, I am so incredibly happy for you guys! I really am! @marionberry is right, it's taking a HUGE toll on my marriage, and my marriage right now is more important, after all, how can you be good parents if your marriage is crappy right? we want to get that back on track. In the end, DH is simply not ready and I was forcing the issue - it was a lose-lose situation. Weirdly, I thought I would be disappointed at this conclusion that we would take some time off, but I kind of feel relieved, like huge pressure has been lifted off?? Which just tells me that this is the right thing for now, this process shouldn't be something so dreadful! Anyways, I am still going to post and keep up with everyone! Thank you so much for your support & care, it really truly helps to have people to talk to about this. I would go absolutely crazy if I had to keep all this inside.

@chibee: Aaw, bless you honey. I really hope you and your DH can get back to basics and each other over the next few weeks. TTC put huge strain on our relationship, too - it's all consuming, isn't it? Big big hugs for you.

  17. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@chibee: you're smart to focus on you two for awhile. I used to say that to dh when we'd argue too...why bring a baby into this? But also recognize that probably the majority of the stress in your relationship right now is trying and with a break things will probably go back to normal very quickly. I hope this really helps you hun and can't wait to see you trying again.

    nectarine / 2522 posts

@chibee: oh hugs! I'm so glad you are taking the time to strengthen your marriage - you are right! It is super important for your child. TTC should be a wonderful ( yet sometimes stressful) time for you both and I have no doubt you will be sooo much happier when you are both on board and no doubt you will get KU in no time Please don't disappear though - we love you here, but understand if you need the time!

Thanks guys, I'll still keep coming back, I want to keep this thread alive!

  20. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@chibee: yea like others said, your marriage is the priority! I take great comfort in knowing if TTC never worked out, I would just keep getting to be best friends with my hubby... We are fighters regardless ( or have people who speak our minds to each other), but when I stress over the TTC stuff it adds a whole new layer of unnecessary strain. Rest up and enjoy some "us time"!!

Hey my ladies!!! Hows everyone going.... lets keep this thread alive! Check in!!!

  22. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

Hey @Mrs squirreld: !! I'm doing really good, thank you!!

It's snowing here in the UK - brrrr! We got sent home from work yesterday at 10.30am because it was getting so bad - the drive home was terrifying, cars were sliding all over the place!! By the time DH was sent home at midday, it was so bad - he skidded, mounted the kerb sideways and came to a halt between a bin and a postbox!! We really are pathetic over here - we're just not built for snow. The country doesn't grind to a halt when Canada gets a sprinking, do they?!!

In other news - we had our 12 weeks scan a couple of days ago!! It was amazing!! The baby was wriggling about in there - crazy!! We announced on Facebook, which was awesome - 100 likes and 72 comments, I was overwhelmed by all the love! I also announced at work and so many people said they already knew - apparently I'm showing?? I'm not so sure, I think it's all fat!!

How are you doing? Got any mental symptoms yet? x

  23. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@Cherrybee: I'm sure seeing all the comments and likes on Facebook was super exciting! I can't wait for that moment! How did you announce?

  24. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

@runnerd: We posted the scan picture in the end. I'd been umming and ahhing for weeks about whether or not to post it - I didn't want to make too much of a big deal out of it all - but in the end I couldn't think of a way to put it out there to our wider circle of friends without making a "big announcement" which makes an even bigger deal out of it, somehow! I'm glad we did - watching the comments roll in was so lovely! How are you feeling??

  25. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@cherrybee: How exciting! I can't wait for when we get to tell friends. Right now we've just told immediate family. How much stuff have you bought for your new lo? Stocking up?

I'm anxiously waiting one more week for our first u/s. I'll be 6.5 weeks so I should get to see the heartbeat. I just want that confirmation that everything is growing as it should so bad!

  26. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@Cherrybee: @marionberry: I know what you mean! My 12 week nt scan is Tuesday....I'm scared to death they won't find anything in there.

  27. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@StrawberryBee: you've had a scan already though right? Or no? I thought the worry would get better after the first one.

  28. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@marionberry: nope, no scan! This will be my first one. The exam before it was just a physical...not even a Doppler. I'm soooo anxious to hear that everything's ok!

  29. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

@marionberry: I've hardly bought anything! Just a nightlight and book of fairy tales. I haven't got a clue what I need!! And add to that, my friend's baby will be 9 months when mine is bored and she wants to hand down old stuff - but I don't know what will be handed down... So I don't want to buy anything.... But I don't wanna ask..... And.....argh!! What date is your scan? I'm so excited for you!!

@StrawberryBee: I had that exact fear!! But everything was fine and yours will be too!! I'm super excited for you!!

  30. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@StrawberryBee: wow I guess that's a benefit of infertility. The re scheduled our ultrasound really early. I'm sure everything will be great at yours!

@cherrybee: my scan is on the 28th. Why don't you just ask what she thinks she will be wanting to get rid of so that you can start planning for purchases. If she doesn't know maybe just start buying the things you know you will absolutely need.

  31. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@Cherrybee: @marionberry: thanks girls :). I will definitely update on how things go!

Cherry: I bet she'll start giving you newborn things in the next month or two, which should give you a good idea of what you'll still need / want to get. What a great friend!

In non baby news, we just got two cabinets finally delivered for a small but major-impact kitchen update. DH will be knocking out half of a wall and we're getting new countertops throughout, and I can't wait for all that extra space! Goodbye blue Formica.

  32. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

@StrawberryBee: Yeah, she is a great friend. I only know she wants to give me stuff because I asked her how much she wanted for her breast pump (she never used it as she needed to formula feed in the end). She said she was planning to give it to me - then said that she currently has an entire bin bag full of newborn clothes for me and is saving everything as an when her LO grows out of it. She refused my offer of money point blank. I will find a way to give her a contribution, perhaps buy something I know she needs as her LO grows....

Your kitchen project sounds amazing!!!! I need to see before and after pics!!

  33. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@Cherrybee: sounds good! I guess if you end up having a different gender that might affect some of the clothes. My DH brought home some stuff he'd kept from when my step kids were little. He had one of each, so I guess we're covered either way.

Will do on the kitchen! I would snap some before pics now while the sun is out, but there's a bunch of laundry on the floor that I don't think the Internet would like to see. Come to thunk of it, I do have some I took a few months ago. Where the white freestanding pantry is is the wall we're taking down:

@strawberrybee: I have been following your due date thread and we are so alike! I have been buying lots of baby stuff so far and have a pretty good stockpile.

@cherrybee: @strawberrybee: I had killer cramps last night, and I mean AF bad but no bleeding today. Started worrying, but I think part of it is due to extreme constipation. Did you guys ever have bouts where it was pretty bad?

  35. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@marionberry: I know, I saw you post on yours about collecting stuff as well :D. I just contacted someone on Craigslist today about a snugabunny swing new in box for $75. She said someone else had already asked about it but she'd let me know if they didn't respond back. Really hoping the first person flakes!

I know that a LOT of people get pretty strong cramps, but I haven't personally experienced those. Every once in a while I get a tiny twinge, but I honestly think its usually gas-related. As long as there's no bleeding with it, it should be perfectly normal!

  36. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@StrawberryBee: We love those swings! We're looking at getting the lamb one. I hope you get it! Ya absolutely no bleeding or spotting ever, so hopefully all is well in there.
