Fil just made me a root beer float!!! There's so much food here and I don't have to cook or clean!
Tempted to ask if I can just stay here forever...
Would you live with your inlaws if you could?

uh hellz to the no. Maybe have her live here? if we had a separate apartment for her?
I'd love to live within a 10 min driving distance to my parents. No closer.

No effin' way. LOL. Having them come for a meal 1-2 times week is already a strain on my nerves!

We talked about MIL living with us in exchange for childcare and thank god DH immediately realized what a bad idea that would be.

@Rubies: I was so happy that I didn't have to shoot that idea down. yikes!

I would reiterate hellz to the no and no effin' way. Since this site is public, I'll leave it at that.

Love them, but NO WAY. I'd love for my parents to live with us though

I just asked the hubs how he'd feel if my parents lived with us and he said, "No problem. That's fine. When?"
Awwwwwwwwwwwww.

We lived with my in-laws for 3 months after we got married. I love them to pieces, so it wasn't a problem. The issue was that we were really trying to find a rental home and living out here in the country, it was really hard to find one (if its any indication, the house we finally found is located in the middle of 3 fields!)
I love my in-laws though! We only live 5 min from them now, so we visit all the time

Haha. I guess you don't mind not leaving the house after all!

@Andrea: heh. Just give me food and I'm a happy gal. We're going out tomorrow! Woooo

Nooooo! I love them but absolutely not! haha We did live on their property for about a year, but they have a little cabin that we stayed in, so we had some privacy.

heck no. but we'll have to eventually. my rule is - they live with US, we don't live with THEM.

No way. DH and I have agreed that we never want to live with any of our parents.

No. My inlaws are great and I love being around them but I think an ideal situation for a married couple is for the husband and wife to live together without any in-laws.

I love my in-laws but having them within a 20 minute drive is perfect for me. When we build our new home in a couple years we will be within 5 minutes and that is as close as it will ever get.

I love my mil. I could live with her. She is really easy I get along with.

It is stressful enough having my in-laws an hour away after living across the country for 5 years. No way. Although we are looking at homes with the expectation that we will have to have a living space for at least one person or set of persons some time in the future. (DH's parents are in their 70s.) Hopefully that will be a few years in the future.
I could easily live with my mom, but DH would get tired of it, although they get along great.
Yum - I love root beer floats!

@Rubies: I hear ya! I feel the same way about my in-laws as you do. My husband, like yours, wouldn't mind living with my parents; we've been half considering moving down the street from them so I can hang out with my mommy all the time.
